New Years 2023: The VRChat Entertainment Network

Weird question about the submission form.
In the section that’s wondering if the submission is a concept, a draft, or the final product, what exactly does the Draft section mean? Will i receive input on what to edit before finalizing things or will this end up somewhere i don’t want to be?
My submissions essentially done but if someone could maybe review it that’d honestly be kinda cool.

Initially I hoped that we’d have time to provide feedback, but I just don’t think that’s logistically possible.

As it stands, we’re reviewing the entries submitted as Final (the vast majority of submissions are Final).

I don’t think we’ll be able to give feedback to those that submit as draft, so if people are waiting on that, please go ahead and submit things as final!

How will we know if our videos get approved, rejected, or need to be fixed? I’m not sure how I know if the subtitles on my video are clear or not. Subtitles are necessarily important and accessible for everyone. I have submitted my film trailer with CC. I am still waiting from the VRC team to respond my question from my form with the video.

I am interested to know about the guidelines for including subtitles as well.

We do not have a requirement for subtitles, and including them is optional. Up to you!

There’s been a lot of asks for feedback so I’m going to have to figure out the best way to do so. We have a LOT of videos submitted and are already being challenged just in reviewing the content. Providing feedback on top of that will be very challenging.

A good way to check would be scaling your video down to 720p and playing it in a video player in VRC.

As noted in the form, we may not be able to answer questions asked in the form. It’d be better to ask them here.

Regardless, I looked it up. Those subtitles look fine!

I decided to make another kind of video. I spent 5 days on it and over 10 hours editing and uploading. I already submitted it but I worry I did something wrong. I cut down and censored the full video for the submission. Will have full video on my YT channel the same day.

Don’t know if you’ll respond but I’ll try.

  1. I don’t mind anything being blocked by the credit text you will add, but I hope the video wont be rejeceted because of it. I’m wondering where this overlay will be placed. If I knew before I could have rearranged it accordingly.

  2. Would a constant icon in the corner that doesn’t have opacity count as a watermark?

  3. Is having bottles of alcohol too much not family friendly?

  4. (spoilers) If the product advertises is VRChat is that not allowed?

  5. Is it allowed to have the VRChat logo in the video?

  6. Is it ok that I say my VRC name and name of my Youtube channel without mentioning that that is what they are?

  7. I really wanna know if my video made it and where I can find everyone’s submissions.

  8. Where will the stream be shown?

  9. Why did the form ask for you to describe the video twice?

Thanks.

If the whole stream cant be saved, a shame, at least I think just a full list of all of them is good.

It hasn’t been decided yet.

No, I don’t think so.

I’m personally fine with it as long as it isn’t the focus.

I’m not sure what you’re asking here, but if you’re saying if the ad is for VRChat, that’s fine.

Sure, just follow the brand guidelines in the press kit

Sure

We don’t have this up yet, but I’m going to try to get a public-facing version up. It’ll probably list titles and the submitter’s VRC name.

In the world.

Because I made it in between doing a couple dozen other things, probably.

I don’t see any reason someone couldn’t grab the stream URL from the output logs (yt-dlp will log the URL when it tries to resolve it) and then archive it, but no, we won’t be doing that ourselves.

Regarding watermarks and links, would it be okay to have a link to our discord and/or our vrc group code in most of the video we’re making to promote our group?

For example, like this.

With the example you gave, I think that’s fine.

FYI, I have created a public-facing version of the review sheet.

Please view your content’s status here.

We are currently only reviewing content marked as Final. If your content was marked as “Resubmit,” please send in a new version and state in the comments that “this is a resubmission” so we can easily find it.

We may attempt to reach out to those who have only submitted drafts, but this is dependent on our available resources.

I have updated the form with some more helpful guidelines.

We are considering extending the deadline to account for these late changes.

Thank you very much for responding Tupper. Now I feel less worried. Love what you do.

We’ve got about 320 videos right now. Of which:

38.3% have been reviewed. We are only reviewing Final videos.

Of the ones reviewed, 76.6% were approved. 18.5% were declined, and we’ve requested resubmission from 4.8%.

If all videos were ~2 minutes long and assuming an 80% acceptance rate, we’ll have ~8 hours of content.

We expected to repeat some content during the stream, so that’s fine. However, we’d like to give more people a chance to submit content.

As such, the deadline has been extended to 12PM PT on Friday, December 9th, 2022.

Hey quick question
On the submission sheet it says my rez is too low, is the 720 next to it the rez thats too low or is it the goal?

That was the resolution that was too low. 1080p is the target.

Gotcha, the other issue fixed was the audio so i should be all set now! Thanks a bunch!

If a submission becomes approved for use during the stream, can the submitter of the recording be able to request when their video can be shown (whether or not it can be accommodated), or is that not allowed or possible?

Sorry, but this isn’t possible due to the number of submissions. :frowning:

I understand and had a feeling, haha! Thanks much for the response nonetheless!

On a separate note, would there be a VOD or archive of the NYE stream available afterwards to watch in the future?
