How to reduce vrc fury file size, and why is it so big?

above is my avatar broken down by AssetBundleStat, i want this avatar to work on quest but how i may do that is when this is a thing is beyond me

I don’t think it’s an issue with vrcfury, just that the mesh is renamed when vrcfury is optimizing it.

I would look into your texture size or mesh size with GitHub - Thryrallo/VRC-Avatar-Performance-Tools to see what part of the avatar are the most heavy and worthy of being optimized. Hope this helps.

So for Quest the compresseed limit is 10 MB and the Uncompressed limit is 40MB

Looking at the screenshot, In your avatar there is an object likely named “Body” and it is a mesh with so many blendshapes and polygons that even after VRCFury trying to shrink it down, it compresses down to what looks like 9.5MB Actually, I just realized the screenshot is calling it 10.0 MB

Usually any guide that got you this far should mention things like reducing resolution of textures, that will be good to try later.

Most immediately you could try adding a VRCFury component called “blendshape optimizer”, see if that shrinks down the mesh size.
