This is caused by the latest Windows 11 patch breaking WebView2. You need to roll back or not have it work. vrc did not cause this and it is a problem across ALL UNITY HUBS.

To be fair the OP has the right mindset we really shouldnt need to rollback our updates because yes some updates such as the one last night did some security updates as well and rolling them back can cause big issues so if Webview2 broke wouldnt it be best to redownload webview2?

I did the uninstalling of updates and that did not work, how do we uninstall the webview2 I wanna try that

i would say try downloading it from the site by googling webview2 but honestly i dont know if this will actually help im just grasping at straws because when i google this issue with VRCC i get this A white screen in the VRChat Creator Companion (VCC) is likely caused by a problem with its embedded browser, WebView2, which is often fixed by reinstalling or updating it. If that doesn’t work, try accessing the VCC interface through a web browser at http://localhost:5476/ as a temporary workaround. A recent Windows update can also cause this issue, so consider uninstalling the latest update or reinstalling Microsoft Edge.

Solutions to fix the white screen

  • Reinstall or update WebView2:

The VCC uses WebView2 to render its interface.

    • Update: Run the VCC and let it attempt to install WebView2 automatically, or visit the official Microsoft Edge WebView2 download page to manually install it.

    • Reinstall: If you have a functional version of Microsoft Edge, the VCC should work correctly after reinstalling WebView2.

  • Use a web browser workaround:

    • Launch the VCC and leave it on the white screen.

    • Open your web browser and go to http://localhost:5476/ to see and use the interface.

  • Address Windows updates:

    • Uninstall the latest update: If the problem started after a Windows update, go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates and remove the most recent one.

    • Reinstall Microsoft Edge: Uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Edge can also fix the underlying WebView2 issue, as the two are linked.

  • Clear corrupted files:

    • Close the VCC completely via Task Manager.

    • Uninstall the VCC.

    • Delete the VRCCreatorCompanion folder from your user’s AppData directory (you can type %appdata% in the Run dialog to find it quickly).

    • Reinstall the VCC.

If the problem persists

  • Update graphics drivers: Outdated drivers can sometimes cause rendering issues.

  • Disable third-party services: Use msconfig to perform a clean boot and see if a third-party service is interfering.

  • Check for other bugs: Look at the official VRChat community forums or GitHub issues page to see if others are experiencing a similar problem, as there may be a known bug.

I hear you out but blaming vrc isnt correct. which is what i stated. this is strictly on windows. And no, this will not fix it because the issue lies with webview2s compatibility. reinstalling it wouldnt work because it wasnt broken that way.

This is a copy paste from GPT, I know because it gave me the same answer. Please test things before posting them as rolling back is the only solution i found after testing ALL of this and more.

I do IT for a living. Troubleshootings my thing. GPT’s great for getting a checklist, but you need to check it before suggesting it to others.

Uninstalling webview2 wouldnt fix this. You need to make sure you are rolling back both the security update and the windows update. There are 2.

i DID say im not totally sure if it would work and that when i googled it that it gave me this but please stop pressuring people to rollback when people really DONT want to im not blaming VRC but they should AT least be looking into this regardless

reinstalling WebView2 maybe isnt the answer.

yeah see ive been trying everything and anything and still nothing is working

Its not pressuring. It’s stating fact. there is no other solution. Take it. or leave it.

You either roll back, or wait for windows to fix it. but blaming vrc doesnt solve anything. which you keep so conveniently ignoring to put words and actions in my mouth. go. touch. grass ffs.

what exactly in the windows update broke WebView2? like at the heart of the problem, what does micosoft need to do to restore WebView2 functionality?

You can still open projects through unity itself, the old fashioned way. Or with unity hub.
