Hello fellow VRChatters.
I wanted to create that post to ask you all how your close ones feels about vrchat.
I’m not talking about your gamer friends or even slightly ““geek”” friends that knows a little about everything.
I’m talking about normal people, and by that I mean the one that simply don’t play, that don’t really have an interest into that, but that you have to interact with.
It can be your parents, your coworkers, someone you met in a random bar.
When you do, do you talk about vrchat, how do you explain it with your own words and what are the kind of reactions that you receive.
I know lots of my friends don’t dare to talk about it else they would be considered weirdos. I don’t feel the same personally I believe vrchat had so much to offer it deserves to be widely known.
What do you think? What’s your experience?
Heya!
I have personally talked about it to families and friends about it and even to strangers.
How I describe vrchat is all-good and bad things of internet mix with physical interaction. And like internet most of the time it’s the bad that comes out. But when you start digging a little bit you can find the hobby and the fun that vrchat gives. My personal favorite thing about vrchat is the mixed culture. Everyone is from everywhere and so slightly give a part of their perception.
Another thing is that it breaks the wall of language. When you want to learn a language the best way to be better at it is to embrace it. Speaking with other native speakers is absolutely delightful. Same for the “language of art” having a 3d dynamic world to play with, is wonderful.
In summary: I describe vrchat as a reflection of our global inner thoughts.
If you want to go further into the subject or challenge my way to explain it, I’ll be happy to do so.

I don’t have to challenge anything, what you say is very true.
I saw so many people get out of their shell thanks to vrc. They talk more, they are more social, go to to people more easily, it’s a great way to train in a safe “safe” environment.
I hear lots of people saying vrc is a way for people to escape reality, I don’t think so. I believe it’s a great addition, you can do more but in different ways, both influence each other and makes us better people with time.
I love to talk about the psychological aspect of it as well to my family. It always confuses them all of what people in vrchat do and experience.
