Support team ignores tickets now apparently

I’ve been having issues with video players and avatar search worlds for about four months now. I’ve made tickets several times.

The first one, the employee told me that it’s a me problem and they can’t help me.

Then once a month I’ve made a new ticket. None of them get replied to, they’re all on ‘low’ priority.

I’ve tried every possible fix I could find and think of and nothing has worked whatsoever.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen that the devs don’t care about the players in this game, or they just hate me.

They prioritize topics they can help people about.
You need to provide as much details as possible to get help on your case.

For example when you say issues with video player, is it about specific videos, on what platform, what connectivity do you have (maybe bad one).

Saying they hate you won’t give them will to help, give us details and we may see if we can help you further.

This is where the issue of mentally unstable community comes into play.

Did you even look up other posts and forums about the issue you are having as well as HOW LONG it’s been an issue that’s been very well explained and documented as to what’s going on

Video players break 99% of the time because YT flagged you as a bot, you will have to wait out the flagging before the video player will work. Streams will work just fine regardless

Avatar search worlds… so um… what about them. There is not one detail here explaining what issue you are having other than video players and avatar search worlds. Not one detail

I suggest taking up some time to learn how to send a bug report.

What about the 1% of the time it isn’t a YT issue? My video player’s been broken for over a year now, and not just youtube. VR tech support ran through trouble shooting until they just gave up. To be fair: They weren’t the first person I asked who gave up. It’s getting to the point where I’m considering reinstalling my OS.

And it’s self righteous high horsers like you that causes a divide.

I provided crash reports, logs. Times. Dates. EVERYTHING that would be needed because I know how this all works.

I told them this as well.

ALL video players are broken.

ALL of them tell me that the video format is incorrect. Streams don’t work. And I get the SAME error in avatar search worlds when using the search bar.

I’ve been playing this game for two years and this problem started about five months ago.

It can be replicated easily by going into ANY world that has a videoplayer/searchbar and trying to use it to do ANYTHING. Streams don’t work either.

It’s every platform.

Desktop steam, PCVR through meta app, even standalone quest. I also tried phone version same issue.

On top of that I tried using a different account that a friend let me borrow to test it with because they aren’t having any issues and it STILL happened. I’ve tried VPNs, fresh installs, every thing under the sun that would normally work and nothing. I have a direct wired connection into my internet and I get about 200MBs speeds.

They have completely ignored me and told me it’s my problem and not theirs. Literally, that’s what the first person I talked to said before they closed the ticket.

Okay but um… you still haven’t describe what issue you are having with any details. You are still only saying you have an issue without explaining it.

So let me ask:

What is the issue with the video player

What is the issue with the avatar search world(s)

I think you may need some glasses because I did just describe my issue actually.

If that isn’t clear enough for you.

Video players and search worlds are having the same issue.

Starting with video players though, the explicit error it gives is that the wrong media type is trying to be played. I already said the video didn’t matter, and links to streams don’t work either. And not just youtube links. Links from ANY video playing service.

And before you say it’s a hardware issue, the issue persists on different computers, headsets and platforms. Even separate accounts. Even when using a VPN. Even after redownloading the game FULLY after erasing EVERY file from VRC on my computer and reinstalling.

If this isn’t clear enough, then I think you’re the problem you were ‘pointing out’.

Im gonna be honest, Im laughing because I feel like it could be just a you thing. I dunno what kind of stuff you run on the side of vrc or what OS or even how old your hardware is. But you say it happens on “all” devices.. I find that kind of a stretch. How about testing it on your buddies computer when you go over there(changing accounts is obviously not gonna change the result). because if it works on other peoples devices then its something obviously on your end.

Other than that

Navigate to C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\VRChat\Tools\.

  • Delete the existing yt-dlp.exe file.

  • Download the latest yt-dlp.exe from its official GitHub page and place it in that folder.

  • Right-click the new file, go to Properties, and check “Read-only” to prevent VRChat from overwriting it

if this doesnt work, good luck to ya bud. maybe the universe is telling you to not get on vrc

I tried both of those things. And you don’t have to believe me but all devices I’ve tried don’t work with video players. My account doesn’t work with video players on his PC either.

And I’ve tried replacing the DLP file also. Seven times.

I’ve redownloaded certificates. Nothing works.

Also here is the exact error.

And this is the error from the avatar search worlds.

Hmm, after looking a bit online, it seems that the issue is related to cloudflare fucking something up on your connection.

Cloudflare is a Third Party provider (that vrchat probably uses in some way), so that could be the cause of both your issues.
The HTTP 526 seems to be notable for TLS Certificates being wrong.
I’m suspecting maybe this issue is region related.

This will be a personal question so you don’t have to respond, but could you maybe share in what country you are living in and what Internet provider you are using, that way while looking online we may find similar cloudflare issues on other games like that.

I live in the USA using spectrum, one of the biggest internet providers in the states.

Other people I know who have the same internet don’t have the same issue.

Dang… I really can’t figure out what could be wrong. Any ad blocker, custom dns, anything that could make your home be different from your neighbor?

You could try something called CloudFlare Warp

That’s probably the only other thing I can think of.

Also try:

If you are experiencing issues with the video player in VRChat, you can try the following steps to fix it:

  1. Exit VRChat.

  2. Press your Windows Key + R and type “certmgr.msc” into the window. Press ok. You can also type this into the Windows search bar.

  3. Go to Menu, then Action, then Find Certificates.

  4. In the “Contains” field, type “google”.

  5. In the “Look in fields:” field, choose “issued to”.

  6. Click “Find Now”.

  7. Select all the expired certificates.

The only ad-blocker I have is the built in one on Opera GX and I’ve been using it for quite some time.

Already checked all certificates. All are good and none are expired.

I’ll try warp though and see if that does anything.

Question though, how do I use cloudflare warp? Do I just run the game after installing and having warp run in the background?

Warp should be active in the background and ready for you to test VRC
