Problem with VrcHeadchop

Hi everyone, I’m really stuck and not sure what to do.

When I try to upload my avatar, the SDK keeps throwing this error:

“Your avatar contains too many VRCHeadChop components. The maximum allowed is 16, but this avatar has 23. Please remove 7 of them.”

The problem is… I literally can’t find them. I searched the whole hierarchy, expanded every armature, looked at the Head bones, switched Inspector to debug, and even searched all over the project window. Nothing shows up.

I did see some Merge Armature objects that point to Head or Armature, but removing them didn’t change the count. I’ve never even used or added a HeadChop before, so I have no idea why my avatar suddenly has 23 of them. This is my first time ever running into this issue and I feel pretty lost.

Has anyone had this happen before? Is there some hidden place these HeadChops could be hiding? I’d really appreciate any help because right now I can’t upload at all.

Thanks in advance :folded_hands: :sob:

Headchop is an animator component, if you have dropped on assets they could use them or it would be in your FX layer.

I would check the merge armature objects combined fx layers

I’ve checked both FX Animator and all Armature objects manually, but there’s absolutely no VRCHeadChop component visible anywhere in Inspector. Yet the SDK keeps saying I have 23 headchops. Could this be a SDK bug or caching issue?

i found out that once i delete all the add-on head amature, the headchop problem disappear, is there anyway to remove hidden headchop script from these ;-;

Go to the add-ons animator.

Check every animation block to see if it has a head chop component.
