Hello there. I recently updated my nickname on VRChat and have a query regarding my previous nickname. Specifically, I am interested in understanding if the nickname I used prior to this change, which was the original nickname assigned at the creation of my account, will become available for other users to adopt. Alternatively, will this nickname remain permanently associated with my account, even though it is no longer in active use?

The username you use to log in to VRChat cannot be used as someone else’s display name, no.
