Only some of my toggles work, or only work when multiple toggles are being used

I am making my first avatar and I am currently making the toggles. I watched a tutorial that worked when I used it for the first toggle, but now when I added a couple more some don’t show that they are being used when I am clicking them, and some only work when multiple toggles are being used. (For reference the toggles are face expressions)

The screenshot shows 3 out of the 6 toggles selected, the toggles should make one eye close or make the character look happy

It appears that your toggles may not be configured correctly. Creating a menu in VRChat involves several steps, and it seems that something may have been overlooked. To simplify the process and minimize errors, consider using VRCFury for menu creation. Additionally, make sure that the menu itself has the “default” option either checked or unchecked, depending on the specific item. You can find help with that by looking up videos on “how to use VRCFury” .

So I have the same settings for the ones that work in the ones that do not work. And for VRCFury, I am on Mac so I don’t think I can use it, but I may be wrong. and for the “default” option for the menu, I don’t think I know where that is can you explain more on that maybe? thanks

They may be referring to “Write Defaults”, which is a tick box visible on each State (orange or grey box) in the Animation Controller. And given your description of the problem, that does sound like a likely culprit. Open up the FX Animation Controller, and make sure every state is consistent with one another across all Layers, being either Write Defaults On, or Write Defaults Off. Having them mixed can make things get pretty weird and unpredictable, like the way you’re describing.

Vrcfury is a thing that run inside the unity editor, so it might be worth a shot on a different project (so if it breaks you throw it out)

I really appreciate it, I’ll try it out later when I’m on my computer
