Notifications for players joining and leaving instances

I really love the new feature where I can see the notification for when other players join or leave an instance. I play both on pc via steam and standalone quest, that feature stopped working for me after the first day regardless of how many times I turn on and turn off the feature. I’ve tried clearing my cache as well as uninstalling and reinstalling VRChat, and it just seems to be bugged out to my account. What can I do??
