No video players work

Literally none of the video players work for me, It doesn’t matter what world, what video player, or what source I’m streaming the video form. Unity or AVpro. The most I’ve gotten them to do is display still images, but even that’s inconsistent. I contacted the official help desk and they gave up. It’s really hard to enjoy being in worlds when my friends are jamming out to music that I can’t hear, or people are watching a video I can’t see. Please help.

I’ve narrowed it down to an issue with my computer. I’ve already uninstalled vrchat multiple times, even wiping all traces of it off my computer using other tools. I’ve reinstalled yt-dlp, replaced it, and reinstalled it again. I’ve allowed it through windows firewall, and I’ve even tried port-forwarding VRchat. If it would be helpful, I could pull up the email chain and list out everything we’ve tried. Nothing’s worked. It’s been broken for months, getting closer to a year now. The only thing I’ve yet to try is completely reinstalling my OS, and while that sounded drastic to fix 1 feature of 1 program: I’m beginning to consider it. I’ve seen some lines in the output log that refrence a missing file, and I think I can see the error in the file path.

2025.09.28 20:55:41 Debug - NativeProcess.HasExited: process exited with code 0, took 1488 ms. Command line: C:/Users/Owner/AppData/LocalLow/VRChat/VRChat\Tools/yt-dlp.exe (…)

That can’t possibly be it, right? That “VRChat \ Tools” instead of “VRChat / Tools” can’t be the reason for this error, right?

I will include the full outputlog as soon as I figure out how. Please help me, I just wanna vibe to vr music again

Backslash is irrelevant to the log statement. That’s just a string output. it doesn’t actually affect the filepath resolution.

Have you tried testing the video players with a non youtube website? Like vimeo.com.

I just tried it again, and no: it can’t load vimeo either.

I tried again, same result. Unable to load video

Are you using the Usharp Video player? Try switching the mode to stream mode. Or if creating have the media player default to stream mode.

A lot of Usharp video players are doing this oddly.

I don’t know, how do I see which video player I’m using? and how do I switch to stream mode? It hasn’t worked for any video player on any world I’ve been too.

how do I know which one I’m using? to my knowledge nothing’s worked

techanon may have reported my post to get it removed, but the problem still exists, and all video players made by them fail to work on quest.

Stream mode has no effect whatsoever. Videos queued using means other than the url bar works, such as search.

I’m on Rift S, running through steam
