earlier today they where working just fine but now they just stopped working for some reason. I have already tried to fix it and i have also reinstalled vrchat but it didn’t fix it. i looked thru the debug console and it says that a file called “vrcrustyscript” is the file that is failing. Can someone help me with this?
I’m having this exact same issue; I thought it was something i did cause i recently tried to edit microsoft’s network throttler thing. and did the set to “disable” it
Its so bad for me i can’t even sit in popcorn palace. Instantly disconnects me from VRC.
I’m also having problems with the video player. It was working fine before the recent update but now it’s not working 
Oh neat, looking at the screenshot, the yt-dlp process was trying to solve some anti-bot challenges, and failed.
basically that is vrchats latest move to get youtube working, so if it doesn’t work, we gotta wait for the next attempt i guess.
As of now, VRChat uses a fork of yt-dlp 2026.02.04.

There is an unresolved issue at upstream (blocker) to reliably solve the issue: Recent players failing on all variants · Issue #51 · yt-dlp/ejs
Basically, it’s a waiting game right now for yt-dlp contributors to find a fix, release a new version, and then VRChat to patch their fork of yt-dlp with a new version.
I would’ve created a feature request for VRChat to update to yt-dlp 2026.03.03, but the fix in 2026.03.03 is a temporary bandaid fix at best and comes with its own bugs (#16128, #16131).

Note, the issue here is not video players in worlds. The title is misleading; video players are working in worlds. The issue here is specific to YouTube playback.
You can still play videos from other services supported by yt-dlp.
oh shite. did youtube finely find away to stop vrchat video players? because i mostly watch youtube threw vrchat now because no adds, i imagine they don’t like that to much
so yeah youtube finely found away to erase vrchat video players. That sucks i used them to avoid adds..which is likely why they want them gone
