Is there any way to get actual help? VRChat support has been ignoring my safety case for 40 days

I am reaching out here because I am completely out of options. For the past 40 days, I have been dealing with a serious, ongoing harassment and extortion situation that is actively preventing me from accessing VRChat.

I have been using the official support ticket system, but it has been a total nightmare. Every time I send an update, I get the exact same robotic response: “Thank you for helping to keep VRChat safe for everyone. We have begun a review based on the information you provided. Please note that, due to privacy considerations, we are unable to discuss the outcome of this review.”

That is it. Nothing happens, the aggressors remain active daily, and I am still stuck outside the game. 40 days later, there is zero progress and zero human communication.

To anyone else who has been through this: Is there literally any other way to actually reach a human being at VRChat? If the support tickets are just a loop of automated messages that never lead to a solution, what are you supposed to do? I feel completely abandoned by the platform’s safety team. Any advice on how to get someone to actually look at my case would be appreciated.

It means a human looked at and evaluated your report. It’s not an automated response, it’s a standardized response. The response you’ve received is also used when no visible action was taken on the report beyond review, typically when the reported user/content isn’t in violation of the Community Guidelines or VRChat Creator Guidelines, or the contents of the ticket do not contain sufficient, full and clear evidence or identification of the offenders/offending content on VRChat.

If any action was to be taken with clear evidence, you would’ve likely received the following standardized response:

Hello,

Thank you for helping to keep VRChat safe for everyone. We have reviewed your report and confirmed that it violates our Community Guidelines. Consequently, we have taken the necessary enforcement action. We appreciate your support in maintaining a safe environment for all VRChat users.

Thank you

The above message is far more common for reported content being (successfully) actioned, and less common for user behavior.

Sometimes a “We have begun a review based on the information you provided.” response will be provided even when visible action (e.g. removal of social links from a bio) with a ban (e.g. 3 days or 1 week) is immediately applied.

The advice from the following article may help you: I want to report someone – VRChat

When filing a report, please keep the following in mind:

  • Be sure to fill out as much information as you can to help moderators effectively evaluate your report.
  • Describe the situation fully and clearly and without extraneous or unneeded information.
  • Provide as much relevant context as you are able to. This includes screenshots and video recordings that directly show the violation you are reporting.

I would also include output logs and user IDs.

Thank you for the clarification regarding the human review process. However, my situation remains at a standstill because standard procedures do not account for security threats involving sensitive personal information.

Due to the nature of these threats, I am currently unable to safely log into the platform to capture real-time evidence or block the offenders, as doing so would directly expose my sensitive data. I have been facing a daily campaign of harassment that prevents me from accessing the game entirely. The evidence I hold consists of the threats themselves, which demonstrate why I cannot enter the platform to provide the logs or IDs they are requesting. This has evolved into a serious security issue, and I am currently awaiting a response that addresses these specific circumstances.
