Im trying to merge my accounts yet there is no “Upgrade” button in my settings and my account doesnt have the random string of letters/numbers. I never merged my account as i havent been on in a long time and i just made my VRChat account today. My steam account is very important to me because of the avatars and friends i have on it. Please help!
it sounds like your account is already merged, try signing into VRChat with steam when you open it, can you also show us how your nameplate appears in game?
Im looking through my settings and it seems as if someone had hacked into my steam account because some of the friends on my account arent people i know on top of that it says that my current microphone device is an oculus, which ik isnt true bc my oculus is what im trying to use this account on
if you at somepoint used a oculus headset while signed it you should expect to see it in your microphone devices, its also possible some of your steam friends changed their names.
If you think your steam account has been hacked, change your password and enable Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator.
If you think your VRChat account has been hacked change your password and enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
If you think someone has merged your account contact VRChat Support but im not sure if they can help.
