Im gonna be honest here groups are the most frustrating thing in vr chat especially when there are at least 12 moderators in one instance in group publics. I have seen world creators banned from their own creation out of spite and people claim it in their groups and even go as far as rip and resell worlds. The ban panel sucks and any other client is against TOS why not give creators a choice on how their world should run and who they want as Admins/Moderators and have some sort of “group instances cannot be created for this world” button or something?
Hi @Neostruction ! So if the creator got banned the group would’ve been deleted as well! Also VRChat has a report button when you select a world roll down and look for Report Buttons That would send the report to the team.
You may have misread their post. They are complaining about a scenario where sometimes groups make a group public on a world, and if a world creator doesn’t get along with the group, there is nothing the world creator can do about it.
With how VRChat lists group public’s mixed in with regular public instances I can see where there can be some confusion
From my understanding, if a world owner is banned from a group and/or doesn’t get along with a group, all the owner can do is report the group. They can report anything that is against tos. However, there is nothing saying world owners and world staff are not allowed to be banned from groups. Groups are allowed to ban any user as they see fit as long as it isn’t discriminatory. If a group doesn’t get along with or like a world owner, they can 100% ban them from the group so that there is no issue of world owners retaliating against the group just because they don’t like each other.
World staff and owners do have a huge issue with joining group instances they don’t like and just spam banning people. This is harassment and abuse and can be reported to VRC as well as is a valid ban reason from the group. World owners and staff cannot keep a group or person from hosting in their world if it is a public world for anyone to join.
It is also stated by VRC that the logic is: “If they are not banned from public instances by VRC staff, then they are allowed in public instances”
VRC TOS also states that moderation from worlds can only be given on a PER INSTANCE basis and they can’t just go around repeatedly banning someone across multiple instances just because they don’t like them or have had previous issues with said person/group.
I hope this gives you a defined answer to your question.
I have reported worlds, world staff, and world owners for this kind of abuse and have gotten notifications saying they have been sanctioned. After so many times the world may get taken down and the owner can possibly be banned from VRC for abuse and harassment.
