Love that you can read up on stuff within VRC. But I do worry that the menu will be too cluttered.
this is useful, there’s many cool and good avatars fully working but viewpoint ain’t the best or good at all while on VR.
it should help advanced users?
Join Notifications? I’m officially out of business then
I hope we will get ways to create our own Paralaxed background images for VRChat. Cause that would be really neat.
I’d love to be able to use our own BG for the UI, even if its just standars and we can upload paralax one.
It could be a VRC+ only, and then why not make all built-in free ? or a part of it maybe x3
I like very much these updates, but I want them to be Live soon, or I might think that’s just an alluring for the far future.
Very cool Main Menu by the way.
True. Many peoples do public edit avis for everyone do content or use. they like to see the avi being on in the game. for me dont make sense all these restrictions for public avis. this just make the avi die. public avatar searcher make peoples have MUCH more fun. its not everyone who can pay 30-60 dol in just a one avi.
Something thats always been a gripe of mine is freedom in game while the menu is open. Something like being able to leave the menu there like the personal mirror and move around freely. Also being able to scale the menu as well.
I added mine to my status, which accomplishes exactly this.
Yo is that join notifier I see hiding there?
I’m excited for these new features, including the different ways to customize your experience. I definitely can accept requiring VRC+ for changing the background of the menu. The more of these optional enhancements we get, may lead me into getting back into VRC+ again.
Hey that’s a really cool ui update… Lots of time spent I’m sure. Can some of that time go to face tracking support? I know it works through osc but works is not the word I would really use. The refresh rate isn’t nearly high enough to make it work properly as the mouth moves pretty fast when talking. Does the dev team recognize this as a problem at all? Is anything being done to work towards making it better? Just curious.
Also I just want to say, thanks a bunch for keeping up the communications these past few weeks. It’s really appreciative, and I hope y’all will keep it up. The community had been begging for any inkling of communication for a long time now and definitely didn’t feel great when they’d have to go weeks or even a month or so of near-radio silence. Looking forward to what’s ahead~
Audio Sources for Quest Avatars? At least 3?
This means We’ll have a space for Avatar Descriptions and credits next to the “Author”
That “features” section is neat, I hope this means we get to sort avatars by tags
I’m sure this is already one of your design iterations that you’ve gone through, but it honestly took me a moment to find where the actual search bar in the Search menu. It doesn’t have equal standing in the hierarchy as the quick searches, so it’s possible someone might think that you could ONLY do quick searches. Here’s a quick mockup that I think would make it a tad bit more obvious:
Nice features! But, can we have a lag fix? Ever since the mods have been taken down, the lag on VR has gotten way worse. My friends have noticed them too. We’re all PCVR users.
There are still some bugs to ironed out. One of them being the bug with Desktop Photocamera. It works fine, but when you sit down on a chair (Station, whatever you prefer) and try to move the camera with WASDEQ, it lets you walk, meaning every time you want to position the camera with WASD, you will get out of the chair. If you will try to move camera with E and Q only, your head will get snapped looking forward and after closing the camera, you basically become horizontally challenged. Please, fix.
I have a question which is somewhat related to haptics
Is there a reason why contacts set to local only still count towards performance rank.
Asking because to use any haptic devices like the bhaptics x40 vest ( which needs 40 contacts alone) will most likely make the avatar very poor, even if you set the contacts to local only, and i don’t get why they should, when it only on my machine they run on.
I think the ability to have information about a world regardless of specific instance as part of the udon sdk without world creators having to rely on an external server and token input system would be a huge step up. You’re already downloading the world file, is it really too much to ask for an clientside file to add to the cache where additional information can be stored? Especially if you’re intending to add an instance history function to reduce impact of crashers. The vast majority of content right now, mainly unlockables have no persistence past sessions, even if its the same retained instance rejoined as whatever information you have dies as soon as it leaves your volatile memory instead of being cached in some fashion.
Beyond that, I have always never been able to fathom how the quest 2 controllers have far more levels of input for potential hand gesturing than what is allowed by the vrchat devs on pcvr or standalone. When comparing it to other services like Neos that do factor in the capacitive functions on the controller, this seems a bit silly. Same goes for lack of native hand tracking support for standalone quest 2 users. Even as a pcvr player, it would be ignorant of me to not admit that more than 80% of your playerbase is standalone only. I think the former would take more time to implement, the latter shouldnt be difficult at all given the new constraints allowable through avatar draw distance. Creating a small new window of room for overhead before client loses stability.
I have plenty of suggestions for later on down the road. However, given your tremendous progress with quality of life changes for horizon adjust and whats already been presented. I think it can wait.
Ill keep saying that opening up communication with the modding community will help drastically. Even if many of them have left vrchat. Just saying your willing to talk with them will definitely get heads turning.
