Community Update - 27 July 2020

Hello all! Time for another Community Update.

This one’s a bit short, as we’re working on several projects that aren’t ready to be shown off just yet. Of course, we’re working on those things in addition to Avatars 3.0, the UI update, and all the other stuff we’ve talked about in previous updates. Some weeks will be like this! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

VRChat Open Beta - Featuring Avatars 3.0!

Last week, we pushed a new version out to Open Beta. This is the “staging” step before release, where we’d like users to put the new version through its paces and ensure we’re good for a Live launch.

The new version of VRChat is 2020.3.2, which includes a lot of things, including Avatars 3.0! Right now, we’re on build 962. We’re going to be pushing some updates to the Open Beta as we get closer to release.

If you’re curious about Avatars 3.0 and what it can do, take a look at our docs. We’re working towards having a nice blog post out for release.

To get started testing things out on the Open Beta, check out #open-beta-info on our Discord. Make sure you click the green reaction icon in that channel to get pings when we update the Open Beta.

If you’re testing out the Open Beta, please be sure that you document any bugs or issues you find!

If you find a bug with Avatars 3.0, please use the Avatars 3.0 Feedback board.
If you find a bug with something in the Open Beta that isn’t related to Avatars 3.0, please post it in the normal Open Beta Feedback board.
