Please allow us to optionally include source files. The buyer doesn’t have to touch them if they don’t want to.
This will happen a lot:
- Someone buys an avatar from the new marketplace.
- Later, they decide to learn unity to customize their purchase.
- They’re forced to pay AGAIN on a different marketplace because they couldn’t get the files. Creators have no automated way to verify vrchat marketplace purchases, so the buyer can’t even get a discount.
- Creators will get tons of angry complaints about this.
A better solution for unity struggles could be a file that creators export from unity, and buyers upload through the website. That file can be included alongside the unitypackage wherever they bought the avatar. Of course, I know vrchat is trying to get a cut from transactions.
Also, this isn’t a solution for the difficulty of finding avatars. Most public avatars use assets from many creators, and those creators won’t be happy about their work being resold, obviously.
