A Question Regarding Internet Connection

I’ve been playing VRC since 2021 and i was wondering if there was a that i could fully utilized my 2G download speed place as my speeds are as shown,

and while it literally took me exact 1 minute to download a 14 gb windows ios for vmware it takes me about 10 seconds to show 1 or 2 200-350 mb avatars, i guess my question is, is there perhaps a specific launch option (s) or something that i haven’t found on docs.vrchat.com or maybe overlooked? my specs are as shown

So what sort of speeds are you getting? I’m a programmer and therefore I can’t be trusted to do basic math with any accuracy.

I have 300mbps and VRChat world downloads peak out at 160.

With the vmware server iso example you could be comparing a server on a 2-10gbps server with not too too many visitors vs however many gbps per second is being sent out to all VRChat users.

I’m okay with getting 160, it still justifies the cable I had to run

So are you saying vrchat as a whole caps out at only 160mbps no what what your internet speeds are? i’m just curious, or are you saying that my full downlod speed of 2gbps is pointless on vrchat because even tho i can visibly see the avatars loading with 2 people in my world… the vrchat server cap only can register so much throughput from my nic (network interface card) at the same time?

Adding on to this i am using a cat 8 cable.

its the speed i observed when waiting on vrchat to download a large world. i’ve observed it being the same a few months ago. Go join a large MMD world and watch your taskmgr, what do you see?

with two avatars loading, there is two things downloading, but its likely they’d finish before ramping up to a high speed

If your nic will do 2gbps on a speed test, it’ll have the ability to do 2gbps on other things, the main point of my initial comment was to kind of point out that just because you can get good speeds to certain sites, it doesn’t mean that other sites will be as fast. so theres no special launch flags to look for.
