Reinstalling the game and clearing the cache doesn’t help. You need to reset the last loaded avatar.
Shift + Esc does not disable the personal avatar
Or how can I change my avatar without logging into the game?

Hello this might be a bit late however I figured out how to fix this error code For my case specifically this happened when I was in an Avatar world trying on avatars and clicked on a silly/cute avatar and then this error happened and kicked me out. So I did a whole bunch of things butttt what actually fixed it was me signing into vr chat on the internet and changing my avatar and now I’m able to get back into the game I hope this helps anyone in the future.
What type of account is it? If you’re playing VRChat in VR mode, there is a command with holding both menu buttons in on your controllers. Personally I made a full VRChat account so I can just log on and reset my avatar.
If that’s not available, log in and the logs should record the avatar ID you’re changing into and you could just report it as a crasher.
Maybe try making a support ticket with a log to explain what’s up, and they can either reset an avatar on a partial account, or delete the crasher…
This helped me out too i recomend doing this first!!! (Ps i can call out the guys avi and who made it so you dont do my mistakes
For the last few weeks VRC on my PC crashes immediately when attempting to start it. I don’t see any part of the app, just it starting to load and back to the Quest PC menu. I am looking at the folder you mentioned and there are no log files to see there.
I’ve reinstalled a few times it has made no difference.
I can’t quite tell which folders/files are related to the app and which are libraries related to world building in Unity. One post I read (but I don’t necessarily believe it) mentioned a game pad on the PC being a problem. I unplugged it, didn’t make a difference. I use it for testing my worlds while developing.
If anyone has any ideas what I might try I’d appreciate it. This has been a frustrating few weeks.
this is what it says in the logs
idk what it means
2023.11.26 23:57:34 Error - The file ‘archive:/CAB-d7a7450751be02931fa281082c33fc11/CAB-d7a7450751be02931fa281082c33fc11’ is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!
[Position out of bounds!]
VRChat has a bit of a nuclear option for clearing out locally stored preference, not sure if you tried that yet.
I’ve had to do it once a few months ago, I did skip the saved avatar settings, I hope.
Thanks for the reply. As I posted in another thread I just tried again today and it is all working so I’m good for now.
I’ve been trying to fix this error on my laptop for a few weeks now. VR Chat used to run fine on it but it’s an older AMD laptop. My guess is Unity is the culprit. It’s super buggy and I’m saying this as a developer and content creator of many years. Unity is leaving behind us gamers with older systems which doesn’t need to happen so quickly. We can thank Unity for this BS. I can play all games from Epic Games (Unreal Engine) just fine but it’s when I run a Unity made game…boom same error across the board.
