sorry for taking up space on the forums the problem has been resolved
How do you make it run? I use it on my steamdeck on desktop without issues
We only officially support VRChat on Steam Deck’s SteamOS, which is a flavor of Arch.
You should be able to get VRChat working on any distro as long as you’re running Steam, and run VRChat through Proton. I usually use the latest experimental build of Proton (check the compatibility settings in properties) and that works fine, although there’s a few weird things here or there.
EAC works under Linux as long as you’re running through Proton.
Hello, i try playing vr chat in steam deck in gaming mode with protĂłn experimental, it start something well then , then in world of 16 or plus it put black screen and shut down.
What can i do?
Is this still an issue @kapita?
@flatpomegranate, as long as you avoid spamming, you’re absolutely fine—this is exactly what this space is for. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us here on the forums. If you ever need anything in the future, don’t hesitate to reach out to us here. We’re always happy to help.
Hello everyone
I’ve tried playing on my SteamOS (aka HoloISO) virtual machine and even with the latest proton I CAN’T lunch the app
And I don’t know which detail will be usefull, you can ask me anything about my config
In the meantime, here are a few general things to check:
- Verify Game Files: Try verifying the integrity of the VRChat game files through the Steam client. This can sometimes resolve issues with corrupted or missing files.
- Update Drivers: Ensure your host system’s graphics drivers are up-to-date.
- Check for Game Mode: If you’re using Game Mode on your host system, try disabling it temporarily to see if it affects VRChat’s performance.
I hope this helps! Let’s work together to get VRChat running smoothly on your SteamOS.
For everything who is about Ubuntu/Fedora/Debian based I know how it works, but AFAIK SteamOS 3.0 is Arch based and I’m completely newcomer. Is there a command to use, settings to change?
How to know If I’m in or out of the “Game mode”? I never heard of that
Yes it still shut down and never close
