There appears to be a VRC hosted topaz.chat server/service. Someone told me about it, is there any documentation? I’m trying to determine if I can control/change the protocol (or whether I need to) to support Android and PC.
Also why is everything such a secret? What is the upside?
This is a high-quality, low-latency audio and video streaming service for VRChat. It is used for the following purposes:
Play your performance in high quality from world audio
Display VJ and gameplay screens on monitors installed in the world
The audio quality is AAC 320kbps stereo, and the latency is less than 1 second in Tokyo. Video can be streamed up to 2Mbps.
However, the video streaming function is experimental and may be stopped without notice if communication charges increase more than expected.
We are distributing an app that allows you to easily stream audio from Windows 10, and a playback gimmick for VRCSDK2. It can also be viewed with VRCSDK3, but the playback gimmick is still under development.
Currently, it can only be viewed on the Windows 10 VRChat client. It does not work on Quest.
It is free for personal use. Please contact us for corporate use.
