Hello, I’m yet another one having a connection issue, but I went far and beyond to test this and still can’t find a solution. I’m located in the region of Buenos Aires, Argentina. These connection issue must have appeared a week ago or so.
I’ve tried connecting through;
VRChat Steam desktop (NO VR)
Oculus 2 with Quest Link with Steam VR
Oculus 2 standalone (so no PC link)
In all the three the situation is the same, I’m able to log-in my account with User/Password, logs successfully, downloads the initial lobby world (successfully apparently), and then after a few seconds when it actually has to place me in the world, it just times out.
I’ve tried deleting Steam, VRChat, clearing both Appdata folders/cache, I’ve tried resetting my router to change IP several times, I’ve tried disabling my firewall completely in both my router and my computer. I’ve tried connecting to test servers of VRChat
What brings my attention is that I tried using not only my home connection, but I also tried connecting the Quest standalone through my mobile phone Wifi hotspot, which is using a different internet carrier, and yet I was getting the same connection problem.
What could be happening here? It’s most likely some UDP problem? I don’t know what to do
Login works, it loads the initial world, and then it times out when it should actually put me in.
On PC I can fix it using Cloudflare WARP, so it really looks like a routing / UDP issue… but on Quest standalone there’s no way to install WARP, so I’m stuck there.
Did you manage to fix this on the Oculus / Quest standalone? If yes, what did you change?
The only fix I can think about is making your PC a Wifi hotspot (with Cloudflare WARP turned on) and then connect your Quest to that Wifi instead of the one of your home router
Hey, I been having the same issue with vrchat losing connection whether Im playing in desktop/pcvr/quest standalone. My location is Córdoba, Argentina.
The solution I came up with was installing a VPN (the one I used was Proton VPN wich is free). This lets me play vrchat like normal, the only downside is that it might be a little bit laggy sometimes.
if you dont know how to install a VPN in quest you can check this video I used for installing it in my quest. https://youtu.be/6ee0upQF2MI
I hope this helps!
