this is my first post on this site just to complain and see if anyone else cares but 90 days to wait to change my vrchat name is so baffling to me. three whole months just to change my username again? yes i do know you can always revert it but if i change my username and still don’t like it or the original name can i not get at lease one grace name change? id even pay 10$ like on xbox to get it changed immediately. thats all i have to say about that but jesus
I have to agree with you. The 90 day rule seems completely arbitrary. And before too many people argue “what if people change it every day” nobody has suggested that :-)
I’m all for non-intrusive rules that need to exist for some reason but this should be completely automated and cause little to no impact… emphasis on the “no”.
nah but deadass you know how roblox has display name changes where its every week? I’d rather wait a week than a whole 3 months I could have tremendous time during summer break. I feel like they should do it at most every month but personally I think you should be able to change your name every week. Or maybe like pay like 5$ or something to bypass it and just change it anyways with money.
And you can only check your bank balance once a week unless you pay $5 to bypass it.
Is there a human involved… like when you log into your bank a teller in the bank checks to see if everything is okay? Oh that’s right it is automated. It is a SQL query.
What is with the 3 months, 1 month, 1 week, $5 stuff? What is the issue that is being solved with this rule? How about 1 time a year or never?

I think 90 days was chosen to be way too long for a joke. Like if it was a month I could change my name to doctor love for February.
Charging money is likely a way to make sure it’s rare. Would you spend $5 to change… Ohhhhhh, I know people would spend $5 to change other people’s names.
