Low FPS on Vrchat, even with decent specs and GPU/CPU usage

I have been having issues where I have been getting very low fps, but both my CPU’s and GPU’s usage rarely ever crosses over 50% for either. I have optimized and put everything on the lowest setting in VRChat. As well as dropping the pixels per eye to see any difference SteamVR, but even at 20% the fps does not change.

While watching the graph, I also noticed that the CPU and GPU were usually close in % usage if this helps with context.

I was considering earlier today to just upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5700x3D, but after taking a deeper look, nothing really shows a bottleneck between the CPU, GPU and RAM.

Any advise or insights would be appreciated.

Here is the relevant specs:

RTX 3070, 8GB VRAM

Ryzen 5 5600x

32GB ram

Oculus Quest 2, Cable Link

Your VRAM is nearly maxed out. Is your performance like this when using a different Avatar or other world? If data is too big to fit into the last bit of space left (or if your VRAM is completely filled), the GPU has to constantly read this data from sysram (CPU memory), this greatly slows down the GPU performance.

Go to the most basic world you can find, like Optimized Box and see how your stats are then.

I’d also open your PC task manager and see if there’s some other process running at the same time that is using some of your CPU load.

Your CPU temp is oddly high for only “53%” usage. But that could be a fan-curve issue too.
