I was wondering if there was a way to activate VRmode but without using a VR headset and also not being stuck in the ground due to it. I know that Fillian has done this before but I’ve looked online for all the solutions. I have 8x (3.0 Vive Trackers) which I use 1 for the camera(head) in SteamVR and 5 for the feets, wrists, and waist. Then use an Iphone for VRCfacetracking. I can’t use my mouse to select options when VRchat VRmode loads up to see if i can activate Full Body and I can’t move the interface enough to see the options because it shows low resolution and some of the screen is missing. I am waiting for my UDcap Gloves to arrive so maybe having a controller would help. I’ve also tried nulling SteamVR and a few other things. I’m not sure if having a controller would help solve this issue or if it’s impossible now but I don’t know how Fillian can use an iPhone without a headset and do full body rotations. If anyone can figure this out, you are a life savior!!!
Do you have a gamecontroller? like an xbox controller? Whenever I’ve had VR headset and xbox controller, its worked with like an eye look.
Mouse really doesn’t work in VR mode, keyboard kinda does. Well, you can press Y to open the chatbox keyboard and type a message in and hit enter.
Yeah I did try an xbox controller, but the main problem would be not having a headset since I’m using an iphone for VRCFaceTracking and using a 3.0 vive tracker as a replacement for head tracking. But even though I set it as Camera in SteamVR that doesn’t have a Head option name for the dongle, it won’t move my head in SteamVR but it does track all the 3.0 vives equipment.
There are programs like VirtualMotionCapture that can help here. You can use OSC data, although I hardly see anyone attempt this. I used to see many a few years ago but not anymore
Edit:
There’s also this that I just found but could help with other stuff you’re trying to do
I figured it out. Apparently Warudo is the program that you can use the VIVE 3.0 Tracker as a head piece instead of a headset so that’s how some people do it. Although it can be a bit buggy with FPS lag during weird random circumstances and won’t allow too many programs to use the GPU since it gives an “error code out of memory”. Though I’m running on a 5090 with 9950x3D and every stats on them are on normal levels so it could be a software conflict. I just wish VR in general would have gotten more advancements to work with the PC hardwares better and make everything easier with all the good settings implemented in it without having to download so many third party softwares to somewhat make it work Dx. It would be cool if Full Body worked with Desktop mode, that would be Epic, but I would assume it be too difficult to make that happen since it’s meant for SteamVR. Hopefully the Tech advances in the near future though! Thanks for trying to help me community of VRchat!!!
