One of my friends bought an avatar from the marketplace, and it looked ok on PC, but on the quest model it’s highly sexually suggestive, she did not know about this. The avatar is also improperly listed; the avatar is technically “Sexually Suggestive“ - excessively enlarged breasts on the quest side with no toggle and desynced clothing (it’s missing on quest; completely nude), while on PC it’s off by default.
She wants to try and get her vrchat credits back, how would she be able to get a refund on the avatar, or is it even possible? There’s almost no posts on this subject, and what few that do exist do not have a straightforward answer, or is not properly answered, if answered at all.
Terms of Service says in section 9 about VRChat Creator Economy and VRChat Credits:
f. Final Payment. All payments that you make for Credits, whether to VRChat or a third-party payment processor, are final and not refundable or exchangeable, except as required by applicable law.
g. VRChat Credit Transactions. You may only use Credits as payment within the Platform as permitted by VRChat. All transactions in Credits will be governed by these Terms. Each Seller, and not VRChat, is solely responsible for any Seller Content. VRChat makes no guarantee that the Seller Content will be available or function in any manner. All purchased Seller Content is not refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law or other limited circumstances. If a purchaser is refunded for the purchase of Seller Content, any Credits paid to the Seller for that purchase may be removed from the Seller’s account.
You could try explaining your case in a support request for your circumstances, but I think VRChat has no obligation to refund your friend unless required by law (consumer protection). At best you (or VRChat) may try to contact the seller and ask for changes for dispute resolution.
The F option did not answer what I asked (she wanted to get her credits back in exchange of the purchased avatar being deducted from her purchased avatars list, not her money).
The G one did though. Too bad she can’t really do anything about it given what VRChat limits us to.
