HELP! Repeated erroring across projects and reinstalls that stops upload process

Hey, so I’ve mentioned this bug in the discord and haven’t gotten any response at all so I’m gonna see if I can get a different result here.

Long story short, I cannot upload any of my avatars anymore, or any new ones. Constantly receiving a string of generic errors (see below) regardless of imported packages, SDK version, Unity Version, and avatar performance.

Upon uploading my avatar, the upload immediately fails. No concrete errors for what causes this is given.
Things I have tried (From most to least extreme):

  • Reinstalling Unity 2022.3.22f1
  • Reinstalling Unity Hub
  • Downloading a VPN and attempting to upload (previously was not using a VPN)
  • Making a new project and uploading an empty game object with an avatar descriptor and animator
  • Reusing the AvatarID of an already uploaded avatar on the new one
  • Attempting to upload the VRChatDynamics robot in a new scene with no third-party packages
  • Restarting my PC
  • Running off of a hotspot
  • Downgrading Avatar + Base SDK to earlier versions that previously worked

So far, none of these methods have fixed, or even changed, the series of errors the SDK throws up. I even move to a separate install of windows and no dice.

I hope it isn’t just a back-end issue because this has been the case over multiple weeks and I have not been able to find a concrete solution yet. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I just fixed my issue, I had the exact same issue, I switched from IPV6 and IPV4 to just IPV4 internet connection and it worked

to do this if you are on windows

(window key) + R

type “ncpa.cpl”

right click your internet connection and select properties

Uncheck “Internet protocol Version 6”

save

reset unity

that fixed my issue

I already have this setting unchecked. My ISP requires me to use IPv4 & have IPv6 disabled, so this doesn’t seem to be the issue. I’m glad it was able to work for you!

Strange thing about it, when a friend of mine sent me their own project recently for me to upload my own retexture onto, it uploaded perfectly fine to my account! However, trying it now, the avatar no longer uploads. It seems to have a 90% failure rate but can sometimes upload based on some factor I cannot yet find.

I looked even deeper into the issue and in “C:\Users\DoItD\AppData\Local\Unity\Editor\Editor.txt” (The binlog referred to in the error “Internal build system error. read the full binlog without getting a BuildFinishedMessage, while the backend process is still running”)

I found before each instance of “Internal build system error. read the full binlog without getting a BuildFinishedMessage, while the backend process is still running” is this, obscenely long “tundra error”. Even turning on my drawing tablet as a third monitor cannot read all of the text present in the error message.

However, what I do know from debugging issues like this is the scariest message not even being the longest one. “GetLastError: 225 (0x000000E1): Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.” What I assume is happening is that some file being executed there is being incorrectly flagged as malware. Problem is, I have never been able to get around such an error. If anyone can help it would be greatly appriciated.
