Many people don’t know how to change this, they need to go to a specific place and find and add config.json and write the following information in it:.
C:\Users\ “you user name” \AppData\LocalLow\VRChat
config.json
{
“cache_size": 400,
“cache_expiry_delay”: 360,
“cache_directory": ”E:/VRC”
}
Is it possible to add this setting to the GUI for easy setup? It seems that a lot of people still maintain a certain cache size, which causes some people to waste traffic on VPNs, or waste valuable regional CDN bandwidth capacity.
Since Cloudflare seems to be under high load in the Asian region, this leads to some points in time where it is easy to need to visit the AWS CDN in the US, which for a lot of downloads of avatars and worlds becomes very slow, relying heavily on various lines and paying fees to raise qos.
I’m curious if VRchat officially monitors the service’s running status statistics.
It is known that the cost of bandwidth payments for enterprises in the Asian region is huge and expensive due to the relative lack of cooperation, Cloudflare is reluctant to increase spending too much, which could lead to increased losses for itself.
In most cases the traffic now comes from the AWS CloudFront global segment, and while there is a good chance that the data will be fetched from a neighboring region, there is still a decent chance that it will go to the US region for downloads.
I wonder if this will make VRchat inc. pay too much?
