Just wanted to post something not the biggest fan of what’s going on not because i don’t agree with how its being handled but because its happening so fast and multiple friends of mine have been banned, I understand nsfw is not allowed on the platform but peoples accounts potentially at risk for perm ban is not in best practices: the issue at stake is vrchat was meant to be a platform for people to upload and share we are entering a period where i and many other who have created models are potentially at risk of takedowns/bans. I love wearing public avatars but me coming back this last weekend from a convention seeing not 1 or 2 avatars but 15 of my 150 favorited vanished why? no idea could be anything (nsfw, ripped, anything regarding not following tags) no idea but i wanted to post this because i have lost SO many public avatars these last 2 weeks and i do want to hear others thoughts and maybe a clear concise answer <3 love u all as a community lets get this cleared up <3! (pardon my horrible grammar lol!)
Hi,
Technically, VRChat could support all NSFW content created without having to change much.
Because everything is there except for one small thing.
That would be a branch fork that allows NSFW content to be clearly marked on an avatar, thus displaying an alternative for users under the required age.
Here’s a list of what’s already there:
-In edit, marking for NSFW content before upload.
-Filter rules in comfort and safety settings (unfortunately freely configurable)
-Age certification (behind a paywall, but that would be a way to earn more money)
What’s missing:
-The branch fork so that alternatives can be displayed!!
I feel the same way, that more and more avatars are disappearing, even if they didn’t even have anything remotely NSFW about them.
And the argument that it’s about child safety doesn’t hold up in this case, since every interaction poses more risks than a technically regulated NSFW avatar.
