messaging in-game sounds pretty cool. i hope there’s also plans for private messaging! it’s kind of awkward to message someone else in-game using the “invite me” function

The camera resolution would be a great update! I do think an option to save pictures as JPEG would be helpful to save space. I like talking pics in 4K but PNG format takes up too much space (they could get to around 12 MB depending on the complexity of the image).
Not everyone edits their lossless-quality pics in photo editor so it would be great to have JPG as an option too. A customizable JPEG quality would be useful too so users can optimize their pics quality.

Amazing work!
One thing i would like to request is with the chat bubbles, being able to copy/paste with the keyboard (like for the video player) as well as be able to copy what’s in other peoples bubbles to easily share video links and such without having to use another software (maybe copying by opening the quick menu and click the bubble you want to copy?)

I have a lot of friends the used to upload 3-4 different versions of their avis because they liked to switch sizes depending on the situation. They then started using a mod that would scale their tracking and view point in game instead and was extatic about it. Im sure they would love not having to manage multiple versions of the same avi again.

we need to all become pro riggers for community based game? and what is even a standard rig, as hard to find avatar that works good with current ik, can i get any example avatar that is supposed to work?
why it cant just be good like with mod? why excuses like that, no matter what avatar i use either my schoulders or spine or neck is just broken.
Why is such important feature tailored to like 0.1% of people doing custom rigs on thier avatars, and not the vast majority of people using either public avatars or some downloaded & edited mmd/booth/whatever models? And even people trying to adjust their rigs to match their body proportions 1:1 have issues to make it not look scuffed.
I feel like the only people that don’t complain about the IK are just people who either never seen anything better and/or just dont care/notice their avatar bending in very weird ways in certain positions.

voice domes are being added for limiting voice to a certain distance and if that’s not enough current safety setting allow you to turn off every single person that’s not your friend which allows you to do exactly what you just said you wanted.
I would also like to see displayed age, I’m 34 and personally I don’t like interacting with children. Also would like a mute all feature under a set certain age.

I’ve always figured it’d be one of those kind of features a lot of people don’t realize they want or need.
Now my poor ears hopefully won’t be overloaded by the intelligible cacophony of voices in crowded worlds anymore \o/

Personally I would love this feature as well, maybe when you’re on the phone it mutes you and everyone else around so you can talk in peace with the persons you’re calling.
Also a text messaging feature would also be awesome!

Yes This would be very useful since I need to have like 4 different sizes of the same avatar in order to do that.
I do have one suggestion for the chat box/typing in vrchat in general. So there is another vr game that has a keyboard that you can physically poke at which would make typing go way more faster as clicking trigger for every letter is extremely tiresome on the hands and in general was never good for the wrists, especially for longer periods of time. It can be toggleable to have it in this new keyboard state and can help alot of people from wrist strain. Another idea to addon to it is maybe a radial menu version that makes a smaller keyboard on one hand and typing with the right hand for faster access and kind of works like the real life typing keyboards that some with disabilities would have on them, only difference being they can only type with a finger/pointer instead of all their fingers.

Many people just don’t know what ‘Write Default’ is or does. I’m afraid the example controllers in the SDK are not useful as examples and let’s be real, very few people sit and read through the docs before building an avatar. Personally, I’d like to see some simple example Controllers attached to a simple avatar that show best practices (maybe those exist, if they do I’ve never found them). Most of us are not that technical, we are artists learning just enough to create an avatar.
Regarding hiding avatars by distance:
A lot of avatars use write defaults, and the animator being disabled will definitely cause issues, most noticeably with stuck & stacking gestures.
The easiest fix for this would be an option to reload avatars on entering the range, this would obviously eat into the performance gains, but would be preferable to manually reloading broken avatars constantly.
( mabey this could be mitigated by caching the performance stats of an avatar so it doesn’t scan them on reload )

I still miss the saving option of 3 mins. Most streamers have fixed pin settings, so every time setup again is not nice. I wish it can saved. Also there is no rotation through pins, only between last 2 selected pins. Make full pin rotation possible.
Nice to see more features (though it’s dev fault you just now reacted on all problems since “forced” EAC update. I know you have this for more than 1 year problem with mod community, so it’s very weird to see devs makes now a lot work in short time!
I guess it’s big hard slap of community in your devs faces and wake all you up.
But… please don’t do it again, it’s really wrong way with forced EAC and ignoring useful mods. Please, listen first to community to make it less painful. You can see how many people use good mods and you still ignores them. That is wrong, really.
That is why i have strange feelings you devs finally made some changes TODAY. I am still dizzy because the problems was more than year ago… it was more like you just don’t listen to community for long time. For me, it’s great to see changes but i still have weird feelings due the speed in changes. I hope you understand what i mean. Good!
Hello! I have a request for the mirror! Can we have an option too see the other avatars while we have the personal mirror on? So when i’m with a friend i can see their avatar! Or even better make it so that certain people can see the personal mirror like friends only option if we wanted to?
