I love all these updates, However, I honestly just want a simple pronouns option. It’s the one mod I used most often that told me what pronouns people use. (and the one I complain most about losing)
Another addition with more avatar slots would be an avatar search function. looking up by tags, names, or authours.
That’s a very cool option! Thou i really want to ask - can we please get this for Camera aswell? i know you can simply use VRCLens for a drone feature, but being able to move camera away natively would be a big savier for a ton of situations, from quick group photoes to some weaked selfies!
Oh, and more about the camera - is it also possible to increase maximum zoom? i assume that current limit is set to priorotise “precision”, but it’s really not enough in a lot of cases aswell :C
Thank you very much for the ongoing updates. While I didn’t use a modded client, after reading how many quality of life mods got lost for people, in some cases even accessibility mods, I did feel sorry for many of them. I thus heavily welcome all the changes these days and I already played on the Open Beta and I for myself literally wonder why we never thought about these features before.
One thing which I’m particularly curious about is the big silence of the VRChat team when it comes to avatar rescaling. During the beta of avatars 3.0 there used to be a feature called “Remeasure avatar”. It was removed 2 years ago when Avatars 3.0 went live. Since then there’s a ticket about it on the feature hub which happens to be the most upvoted request in the Avatar 3.0 category. People have also asked about in your Discord, I asked about it via support email and well, it’s never been answered.
It has been made available for players with modded clients again using the “Scale goes Brr!!” mod which obviously cannot be used anymore since the EAC update.
I’m not going to ask to implement avatar scaling immediately. I do realise many QoL mods have a significantly higher priority and especially some accessibility mods are even higher priority wise. Avatar scaling is just a fun thing in comparison. Still it would be nice to at least hear back what the road blocks of that feature are - and how likely it is to come back in the near or far future.
Anyway: Still thank you very much for your attempts to make VRChat a safer place and by implementing all those QoL features. I wouldn’t have imagined how much I’d enjoy horizon adjust. I completely forgot at one point I was laying down and spilled a drink over my chest because my view was normal (looking forward). That was fun (no irony - fortunately no VR headsets were damaged in this process ).
The problem with this, is you can’t expect everyone to have a properly/perfectly set up avatar rig. Just as with shadering, you have to employ some extreme measures to avoid terrible lighting scenarios, having a system able to compensate for the flawed nature of a user-generated content environment where things are often going to NOT be properly designed, is going to go a lot further.
I’d love to see some way to maybe change your avatars size through a toggle or something! Would be great for certain game worlds that recommend a certain height, but don’t want to change out of an avatar that you put a lot of time in.
I love seeing the resolution increase on the camera. I hope to see other camera mods also included in updates. For example increasing the size of the camera itself helps me being able to see the screen better because of my bad eyesight, but also I would love to be able to put my camera on a rail to help me make videos again. Im a vr photographer and I really want to use those tools again
Is there a technical limitation to being able to name the avatar favorite groups? Something like what can be done with the favorited worlds list would be very nice. It would be a lot nicer to be able to sort favorited avatars into custom named groups. Instead of having to memorize which group you are save what type of avatar to.
Any possibility the debug menu could be touched during these rapid fire updates? It can sometimes get placed far away on avatar/world load and you can’t physically get it back on Quest or PC without playspace mover. One of my biggest annoyances when I made avatars on Quest because i legitimately had to consistently restart.
Simply resetting the position like how personal mirror/camera does when reenabled would be lovely!
Can you write timezone specifically & also write time with UTC?
For people in region other than PT, It’s hard to know ‘PT’ means PST or PDT and it also hard to convert to local time zone.
IMO, it’s easier to convert UTC to their local time zone, I want VRChat to write time also in UTC.
It is awesome to see all these features added. Personally I could only wish for three more features: the possibility to change viewpoint and scale when dynamically scaling an avatar. The mod managing this was called “Scale goes brr”
Also “Freeze Frame” and “Camera Animations” would be awesome to see back in the game, since some content creators used those.
I’ve been wanting this for a while now. Can we get a “show all avatars” for the instance button? This would make power use of safety settings showing one by one immensely since most lobbies aren’t full crud.
Show all avatars in instance, please and thank you.
Text Chatbox / Chat Bubble
Visibility allows you to change whose chatboxes you can see-- everyone, friends, or only your own. By default you can only see chat from your friends.
Say what?
You can still - by default - hear every single screeching kid in the instance, but seeing text chat from people you don’t know - so you don’t know if they are mute or not - is too much?
I really don’t see a reason to have it restricted to friends-only ever, and it definitely should not be like that by default.
