Yes please, avatar neck bending when using either lock head or lock all mode when laying down is quite annoting and worked much better with old mods
damn that is fast
Hey thanks for your continued improvements to the IK, I’m really glad about the extra fine-tuning options and better spine behaviour in the future.
I wanted to ask if you could please add an option to have the hands offset on the the Y and z axis.
My hands are really quite broken because they are about 5cm off from where my real hands are and it feels really weird, and the option for that new rotational axis doesn’t help me unfortunately. I’ve asked all my friends if theirs are off too, and they all are off on the Y axis by at least a couple centimeters, some more and some less.
This hand offset I can’t really add comfortably in blender like most of the other IK fixes, like the ones from your videos, so I really depend on the menu option, pretty please?
Keep it up! Can’t wait for the updates, even if I am a Rift S user.
But what do you men exactly with “poorly performing animators”? Eve if I make personal avatars since 2018 I don’t get it
About the community moderation ands toxicity… Well, I wish that someone could help the good italian people to enjoy the italian community on VRChat. Sadly is full of very bad and toxic people who wants to be “king of the hill” and “reign” over the others, bullyng, promoting fights towards other users, and bad behavior in general…
I saw too many good people leave VRChat because of this toxic people.
I completly agree with you
Would it be feasible to have a list of things that are currently worked on, things that are on hold and things that are planned to be worked on etc. Often I remember things from the past that were said to be worked on eventually (like I think chairs were suppose to be reworked) or things that kinda stopped (what happened to Phys Bones for worlds?). So having a site that one can check out or link to people for the current state sounds useful.
What would those do in worlds?
Not really, i’ve joined many worlds that crash intentionally or unintentionally, especially in labs. Also, some worlds use shaders that work fine on nVidia but crash AMD users (especially JP animation worlds). You don’t know a world is a crasher, or worse, something that breaks everything and forces you to manually quit the game to escape. You don’t know it’s bad until it’s to late, and there’s no way to filter what’s in a world.
The idea came to mind of an actual NPC led tutorial to sort of ease people using standard video game tutorial techniques, similar to the one Valve does when you first one Steam VR. Walking you through and having you practice locomotion and system stuff, but also social interactions, and taking time towards the end to remind people that VRC in some aspects -isn’t- a game, and that everyone on the other side of the headset is real and to consider your actions in game like you would iRL.

Usernames are dead
In a previous Dev Update we noted that the VRChat API will no longer provide the username of other users to you.
This has been deployed! Usernames are dead.
At some point in the future, they will be removed completely. We’ll post here and inform relevant parties when that occurs. This API change was rolled back because it broke the client in some ways! Turns out we didn’t check everything. Whoops. We’ll get back to it after a client patch.
You can not finish this and that’d also be cool. With people constantly changing their names in VR Chat, having a single name to look at on their profile to know who someone on your friends list is, is incredibly useful. Taking that away and then just having people scratching their head going, “Who on earth is this person and why are they on my friends list?” Seems… Well it’s going to get a lot of people unfreinded, that’s for sure.
I took the briefest of glances at the linked post, and removing user id from api helps with that. Instead of getting api responses that can be effected by name changes, all code writers are forced to use a proper ID.
There is likely api for getting the current name. Get your friends list, all IDs, do another call with an ID, get a name.
If your thinking in terms of the user interface inside of VRChat, I think you quoted the wrong bit, which is why I’m confused.
Hey question I have. Has the posing for physbones been removed or.? Because I can’t pose any of them anymore.
Hi! Sorry this must have been mentioned a thousand times but didn’t find anything in the comments I read, will there be any solution provided for the many children in public instances? It’s not that they’re all annoying, but it’s obvious that VRChat is not a space made for them and that this requires some moderation.
Maybe an age verification on VRChat accounts, or something similar? I think 15+ or 16+ would be alright, kids that age know about everything thanks to internet anyway, but running into 8-12 years old kids every 5 minutes is pretty concerning, and kinda weird. Specially because most of them get bullied or insulted or do so to each other and annoy other players trying to chill. So it’s bad for them and for the rest of us ahaha.
Thanks!
Hi! Like Nedran says, it would be a great idea. This would also finally put the NSFW tags when you upload avatars to use after year’s long wait.
Also it would be nice if we can use other people’s fallback avatars
Any update or information about the implementation of FreezeFrame?
I think they want it to be consolidated and modular depending on what features you need. I can see that as I had to do something similar just recently with my stuff. (Having multiple small unity projects made a lot of bloat in my storage, but now I use one project for all my avatars. I see where they are coming from at least)
I too would love a roadmap, as it would be something to keep me going and creating knowing that it will be eventually implemented. (I am looking at you “World & Player Persistence” >.>)
Just to manipulate bones with OSC would be fun could make FBT on quest vrchat a thing with a separate device
Don’t let people be banned just because someone “got offended” as offense is mostly subjective. Just find a better way for new users to learn about the mute and blocking features.
