This seems like an issue on my account or something but if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!
When I load into ANY avatar on VRChat desktop, if I crouch or prone, the camera height does not change and glitches out. This doesn’t happen in VR and only happens on the desktop version. I cannot fix this no matter how hard I try, every avatar is broken for me. I have tried:
Reset avatar settings
Resetting all game settings
Clearing texture & game caches
Uninstalling, cleaning, and reinstalling game
Changing gogoloco options
Resetting globally hidden avatars
Trying fallback avatars
Please help me fix this issue. Attached is a video of me crouching, proning, and standing. All while the camera doesn’t change and gogoloco is NOT active.
Thanks for replying! I tried both beta channels through Steam properties and the game updates but the locomotion issues persist. The head height stays the same while the avatar crouches into the air. There is a small up and down camera glitch everytime I crouch but the height stays the same and doesn’t move down.
I’m not alone finally! I thought it was just me, I have had this issue since march of 2025. I looked all over and have found no solution. I asked in multiple vrc related discords and everyone is flabbergasted. My friends can see the crouch and the weird crouch and prone I have. I still have no fix though. I did everything short of reinstalling windows. Reinstall, add and remove software, move install location, verify integrity, change json settings, etc…everything I could think of. This applies to 2019 and 2022 avatars. You’re literally the first person Ive seen with this issue besides me.
Edit: Idk if you have this other issue where I have flickering avatars on my end, but everyone else sees them as fine
OMG SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!!! VRChat told me that this was an OSC issue and they were not responsible for it, I don’t even use OSC!
I also see the weird avatar flicking glitches where other’s avatars will have their bones or locomotion messed up and no one else can see it. You’re the first person I’VE seen with this issue haha, i’m glad i’m not alone but this is getting ridiculous. I’m reinstalling Windows as we speak and I will update you if it solves the issue. I remember downloading magic chatbox once and that very well may be the cause of this issue (even though their staff completely deny anything to do with it). It’s like no one can take accountability haha
I DID run a live USB of Linux Mint for experimental reasons and the weird crouch and flickering was not present. I think it’s SOMETHING in windows. I started doing it after I didn’t play VRC for 3 weeks. As for flickering…I have a few avatars that just flicker rapidly almost like audio link, but those specific avatars also have their mouths stuck open. One of my avatars…on my end the clothes are invisible, but everyone else sees them…but here’s the weird bit: In a public with friends, the clothes appear and vanish rapidly that only I can see, for everyone else that clothes vanishing isn’t happening
I have similar issues with avatar clothes and bones. I also remember playing with my VR headset for about a month before I switched over to Desktop mode, this was during the first launch of the Drone into VRC+ (to give you a timeline). That’s when I first remember it starting. VRChat support still refuses to answer any of my tickets. I’ve given them logs, info, screenshots, OSC debug data, video captures etc, yet they don’t understand why it’s happening and won’t reply. Kind of crazy that the developers of the game wont support it.
The VRChat “Support” team isn’t really a support team. It’s a gaggle of half-starved cows stampeding on keyboards hoping their response will resemble guidance.
The VRChat “Development” team isn’t really a dev team. It’s a hive a bees lying to their queen (stakeholders). It’s already been proven that VRC lies to it’s investors in order to receive more funding. They bolster the VRC+ user acquisition numbers and downplay the gravity of development issues. This game is a pile, and no one can change my mind.
I wish the best to you Stutter. I have given up on this game.
