Constant flickering toggles from certain avatars on Linux now

Not necessarily a major issue, as it only happens to some peoples avatars but it started right after the 2025.3.3 update. I suspect it may be caused by the gesture smoothing potentially but not certain.

Regardless though, the toggles on certain peoples avatars are now rapidly flickering in and out of existence and usually appear 3x bigger then what they were designed for, like a hair toggle for example will appear bigger than the size of the head but again, it’s just constantly flickering in and out of existence as well. The default look of the avatars are fine though, those assets look normal but there is just the flickering ones happening on top of that.

In case this is potentially helpful: I use GE-Proton9-22-rtsp17-1, I basically have to use this custom version of steams proton compat, in order for video players to somewhat work. (also it would be nice if there was just a menu setting to disable AvPro from even running, as it always lags me until I switch to Unity Video but I digress)

I put this in the help category but I doubt there is much that could be changed to fix this other than internal fixing from VRC themselves.

Nevermind, disregard this. It seems like it was a 1-time bug, as testing it again now, it is no longer happening.

Not just you, I’ve been observing the same problem. At first I thought it was a problem with the AMD Drivers, but it seems that the bug can be triggered by visiting certain worlds with really excessive post processing or shaders that don’t play nice. (It’s possible that shaders/assets on certain avatars could also trigger the bug, making it difficult to reproduce in the wild)

This world usually triggered it for me with alarming consistency after a few minutes of being there.
