Can no longer change avatar remotely while in game...?

Earlier today, I noticed that when I tried to change my avatar via the VRC website while playing VRC, it failed to do so. It is not just me either; a friend I was hanging with also has the same issue as of last night, and I am certain it was NOT like this before. Considering the only workaround currently is to restart the game, this is quite an inconvenience…
