Can I use Unity Asset Store assets (standard EULA) in a VRChat world?

Hi!

I want to start building VRChat worlds using assets from the Unity Asset Store, but I want to make sure I’m on the right side of the licensing terms before I invest time into it.

I’ve done some research and found that VRChat’s own team published an “Asset Store Picks” list and even mentioned that the official “Sky Camp” world was built using Asset Store models. I also found that Synty Studios explicitly states in their FAQ that VRChat users can build worlds with their assets as long as visitors can’t extract them.

However, I couldn’t find a definitive, official statement from Unity or VRChat confirming that assets under the standard Unity Asset Store EULA (no special or restricted license) can be used in VRChat worlds — both public and private.

My specific questions are:

  • Is it allowed to use standard-EULA Asset Store assets to build and publish a VRChat world?

  • Does sharing a private world with a specific person count as a license violation?

Thanks in advance!

I would presume you could, just like most stores for models or other stuff. If a creator said to specifically not to do this or that with their product then it’s different. Unity store assets most of the time wont care where you put their assets unless they have something like “don’t use this asset for monetary gain” again presumably just like other storefronts.
