Best VR Headset 2025 – Which One is Worth It?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking for the nice VR headset of 2025, and honestly it’s kinda overwhelming. I’ve been using a basic headset for casual stuff but now I want to upgrade to something better for both gaming and some fitness apps too.

So I’ve been researching for like 2 weeks now, mostly nights read a lot of stuff on New York Times Wirecutter, Lifewire, and also checked IGN and Tom’s Hardware too. They all have tons of info but honestly made me more confused lol.
Most of them kept recommending these two headsets again and again:
Meta Quest 3 – I found this link through Wirecutter blog
)

Now the issue is, both got tons of features and reviews online. Meta Quest 3 is more standalone and wireless which I like, but PSVR2 graphics & experience is super solid (especially if u already have a PS5). I even read on Reddit some say Meta is better for general users but PSVR2 is top for exclusive games.

I’m honestly stuck now  I just want a headset that’ll last long, good visuals, doesn’t give me motion sickness (which I got once with an older model).

If anyone using one of these or tried both, I’d really appreciate your honest feedback – like which one is actually better for everyday use and maybe little workout too?

Both have tons of reviews, features look amazing on paper – I just need your help to finally decide.

You have many more that are used by the community but those are indeed good headsets.

If you post here i’ll assume that you mean to also use it for VRChat.
In that sense, the quest3 is lately the de facto recommendation from what i saw in terms of price/feature. You will get great lenses and performance, good enough battery, access to their store and can be easily connected to a pc through wireless or cable to play pc vr games (like vrchat). You can also use it in standalone for vrchat casual use (only for quest compatible worlds).

You have cheaper solutions like the quest 3s, almost the same, but slightly worst lenses and resolution, but cheaper.

If you are really on the budget, you can look for a Quest 2, but quality is quite worst and it’s slowly beeing let go, replaced by the 3.

On the other side you have the Pico around the same price range, but more towards asia market, but has similar use.

This is for headsets that support quest standalone mode.

You also have the headsets that can only be used with a pc, like the PSVR2 you mentionned, but with some issues as lots of features made for the PS5 aren’t compatible with PC, it’s more a “compatibility” mode and you will need an adapter for that. That being said, it has OLED lenses and eye tracking. If you have a PS5 and are interested in the exclusives, why not.

You also have the “premium” headsets for pc, the rolls used to be the Valve Index, but lately i won’t recommend it as parts gets expensive fast and it’s getting a bit old.

In highest quality you can look at headsets like the “Bigscreen Beyond” for very light headset but expensive price, plus you need additional hardware to make it work.

You have the family of Pimax headsets for various prices and uses, but personally i don’t recommend them as they have a history of bad software and buggy headsets.

Some people still find Quest Pros, even tho they are not really supported anymore by Meta, but they are a side category, especially for people that want eye and face tracking.

This is most of the ones i can recommend lately based on what i know.

On a personal note, i still use my Valve Index mostly because i’m used to it and i already have all the hardware, but was considering the Beyond, or to wait for the future upcoming headset from Valve “Deckard”, but it is still yet to be annoucend.

Hope this little list helps and if you have specific questions don’t hesitate
