Your connection to VRChat was interrupted. Verify connection and try again

As soon as I push start VRChat I continously receive:
“Your connection to VRChat was interrupted. Verify connection and try again.”
This happens in Desktop as well as Steam Link mode.
It further more happens with WiFi as well as cable connection to router.

Enviroment: Windows 11 24H2 and Occulus Quest 2 with SteamVR connection.

Steps taken to resolve:

  • verified game files: SteamVR, VRChat
  • reinstalled VRChat (with including deleting entire VRChat folder after Steam uninstallation process)
  • deleting all the data possibilities under “Debug” in VRChat
  • updated every possible driver with Gigabyte Control Center
  • ran a Windows file scan to fix: sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • ran the repair command on EasyAntiCheat

Since none of this worked, here is output of event viewer:

File System Filter ‘EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys’ (Version 6.1, ‎2024‎-‎11‎-‎27T06:19:31.000000000Z) does not support bypass IO.

Supported features: 0x4.

I have a working internet connection. Everything except VRChat uses it.
Anything I can do?

Thank you for posting the details!

Unfortunately, the VRChat team does not provide direct support on this forum.

Please contact our support team with this information and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Did you ever figure out how to fix this? I’ve been having this problem for a while and haven’t been able to get it working.

  • I bought a new Gigabyte mainboard
  • the Gigabyte Control Center installed all drivers / tools
  • Gigabyte Speed (“Cfoss Speed”) is a tool for WiFi to speed it up. It made it slower and created the interruption. After uninstallation the connection interrupted stopped.
  • there were minor spikes after this. I uninstalled the WiFi driver and reinstalled it with Gigabyte Control Center, but this time didn’t install the BlueTooth driver. That fixed the minor spikes in WiFi.
  • sum up: it was a Gigabyte Software issue

:exploding_head: That tracks with when my issues started. Also have a new gigabyte motherboard.

Thank you! I’ll try this out.
