Weird lighting glitch with avatar on Pc

I noticed that sometimes on this avatar when I am in certain areas or maps my metallic parts on my avatar would turn pitch black or different colors then the gold it’s supposed to be. I am using the Standard shader because that is what came with the avatar but this also happens with the Autodesk Interactive one as well.

In the pictures below you can see the normal way it looks in the first image and then it turn pitch black just a few steps away in the same world/room.

Is there any way to fix this and make it still be a metallic gold color like the first image?

This is what the minimum lighting setting is for in material shaders, it sets the least amount of lighting on it. If that doesn’t work it could just be a world problem than avatar, also that avatar looks nice.

Sadly the shader I use on my material doesn’t have a minimum lighting setting as seen below

and thanks, i got the avatar from WWILLOW LABS CO. on gumroad (Avatar Link if interested)

Are you using standard willingly?

The more recent VRChat toon standard shader supports a minimum brightness, but for PC avatars usually other shaders are used, like poiyomi or liltoon.

I am using Standard willingly, i don’t know how to make other shaders make it look like the same level of metallic and have the right kind of color, I have the bare minimum knowledge on them.

Duplicating the material and playing around with the copy is probably what you’re going to do.

ctrl + z is always a nice tool in the case of forgetting a value, easy reversing

So I messed around with the poiyomi toon shader and made it look really close like this

But in on the old one it has more shine around the edges (example image below), anyone know how I could replicate it?

reflection anisotropy, rim lighting, and generally the reflection settings. are u using new or old poiy
