Vrchat page stuck on white screen but has sound

I’m able to log into VRchat on my PC just fine, it logs me in and everything but the screen is entirely white, with no other graphics or anything but my main world plays sound.

I’ve tried everything from shutting off my PC, updating Windows and my driver, deleting temp files, going into cmd, and deleting files that way, but nothing has seemed to fix this.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I’ve tried just about everything.

It looks like this. I can hear the Log in menu music but I can’t click on anything.

hey! so i have the same issue and I was wondering if you were able to get it solved or not cause I am struggling lol

I’ve got a mate who’s having the same issue but his vr works fine its only when playing on desktop mode

weirdly enough, the way i fixed it was by changing skins on the website and then opening through Steam again. idk why that worked, and idk how but it did!

figured it out, some skins just turn your screen white, i changed back into the skin i was and my screen turned white again

Changing skins? You mean avatars? I can try that, VRchat legit told me that they don’t know how to fix the issue.

I wasn’t able to get this fixed, and VRchat support said they can’t find anything wrong with my Output logs. I don’t know what to do about this.

So uh, it got worse. I aggressively started clicking and this happened.

I also encountered the same problem of giving me a white screen when it launched. I’m using Desktop mode to launch, The audio is fine (it show the program is running, and its in the login page), but the graphics is just white.

I tried restarting my laptop, redownloading VRchat, redownloading Steam, and sent an email to the vrchat staff. the ticket says I have something wrong with SteamVR, but I don’t even have that installed. I installed steamVR and launch it and it still doesn’t work. I’m still waiting for their response about it.

May I know if your white screen issue is similar to mine? or your specs so we can see if it is the spec’s problem?

On additional note, I encountered the problem starting 14th Oct, where I had an windows update on 12th. I tried reverting the update and it still doesn’t work. So I have no idea whats causing it (after I reinstalled everything.)

My Specs are defo enough to launch it. Windows 11, i5-13500, rtx4050, 16gb ram, Nvidia settings are all at default for VRChat. so Im really clueless.

I can try this.

This is what happened to me. I could access VRchat just fine until the update. Steam VR didn’t seem to help or reverting the update either. These are my specs btw.

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-13700HX 2.10 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (29.7 GB usable)
RTX 4060

Nvidia drivers are all up to date. I’m genuinely stumped on this. I think VRchat has to make a patch or something.

My specs are lower lol
I have a i5-13500 and 16gb ram, and Nvidia drivers are all up to date.
I tried reverting the latest windows update, and it still didnt work. Funny enough, when I take screenshot through Steam, the screenshots have actual ingame graphics, but my screen is still a white screen!

Still waiting for support ticket btw

An update on this: A person in discord replied and told me to try disabling 3rd parties services on the PC (win + R, enter msconfig, opens services tab, click hide all Microsoft services, then disable all.) and see if 3rd party services are affecting this.
if it fixes it, then try activating services one by one and reboot to see which service is affecting it, then uninstall the one affecting vrc.

It didn’t work for me, but you can try to see if it solves yours on your PC. (Make sure to enable all services again after that.)

Just tried this too, no luck.

yea thats whats been happening to me, ive literally done everything I could to it but its still being weird

I have had the same problem, but it has extended to apps outside of VR chat. Many apps I use have recently started glitching or refusing to load. I even reverted to Windows 10 hoping to fix the problem, but that was unsuccessful. VrChat please fix yourself </3

I got good news peoples. I got it fixed!!
A very helpful person on discord solved the issue (for intel users), and here’s what I did to fix the issue:

  1. I went to Intel® Driver & Support Assistant , (its from intel so dw) downloaded that app and checked what driver update I needed; for me it was the " Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*" driver. usually it should be a graphics processor driver.
  2. I downloaded the driver app to install it. When the application asks you the download preferences, make sure you do an extra step to open “Customize” and click “Execute a clean installation”, or else it won’t fix.
  3. After the installation, reboot the computer as they tell you to do
  4. Launch VRChat and see the miracle you longed for. Oh my god it worked finally.

Hey guys, good news: I got it fixed!!
A person who also suffered the same problem found a solution, and heres what I did to fix:

  1. go to Intel® Driver & Support Assistant , download an launch that application. After scanning they will tell you what graphic drivers need to be updated. Mine was “Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*”.
  2. Download that graphics processor driver and install it. Do click “Customize” and check the “Execute a clean installation” when they ask you what to install.
  3. After installation, reboot the computer as they instructed.
  4. launch vrchat again, oh my god its fixed!!

See if this works for you. Hopefully this will be the fix.

A person who also suffered the same problem found a solution. It’s basically finding what intel graphic processor you’re using and reinstalling the driver. and here is what I did to fix it:

  1. go google and download something called “Intel® Driver & Support Assistant” (idk why pasting the link on reply doesn’t work, but find the one provided by Intel itself) , download, and launch that application. After scanning, they will tell you what graphic drivers need to be updated. Mine was “Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*”.
  2. Download that graphics processor driver and install it. Do click “Customize” and check the “Execute a clean installation” when they ask you what to install.
