Recently I discovered that animated emoji’s are a thing which is pretty cool.
But, that got me thinking, what if there were 2.5D holograms. Why isn’t that a thing yet?
So, I made this system so folks can show off 3D objects from a simple URL image.

Let me know what you guys think conceptually. I’m hoping that the VRC team will notice this technique as an option for 3D stickers.

I love the idea of being able to load holographic images like that, and the use of a spritesheet similar to how emojis can be animated is really clever.

I looked on the canny and found a post related to animated stickers. I would say post the link of your post there too to suggest the staff your way of doing things [Stickers] The ability to create animated stickers | Voters | VRChat.
That being said this could complitely be integrated in a world through a prefab for people to integrate a “loader” of holograms in game and be able to use them as they please.

I’m considering releasing the asset for cheap.
But, I’m also going to create other (free) software for creating hologram images by importing a 3D model.
I created a html file already for helping bundling the frames properly. That will be released for free.
Same with a blender template file.
I saw that world! looks great with a bit of distance.
Right? I tried 256 directions but it ended up being too low resolution. I might try 128 though.
