Hello everyone, my name is Hotshot and I’ve been on VRChat for a few years now.
And I have really enjoyed all the experiences thus far with the systems that be, and like any good system there is always room for improvements, cracks in the pavement and all that.
Anyways, I don’t mean to nitpick by suggesting this, I just had the thought the other day and just thought to share it in case someone had some mutual agreements or was already moving forward with a similar idea for VRChat.
One thing I’d love to see, is a method in which I could ‘Follow’ a creator who makes fantastic worlds and continues to do so, and that I’d love to find a way to keep up with that WITHIN VRChat.
Unfortunately, not every amazing world creator has their own Group in which they post updates or releases on new worlds of theirs. But I do wish there was a way I could keep up with notices when certain creators drop brand new worlds that I can’t wait to go and explore for myself and see.
Secondly, I think it could be beneficial to introduce a comment-less rating system to worlds, as in introduce Likes (no need to add dislikes or ways to berate or criticize creators), but just a way to see whether or not a world is highly regarded or not.
Sure you could go by how many times its visited and such, but just cause a world has a high visitor count, does not mean it is universally liked by all those who visit it, sometimes they can have such a count cause new users see the existing number of visits and go check it out and find that it’s not all that they hoped for regardless of the reason why at that.
But even just a simple Like/Thumbs up button to genuinely rate whether or not a certain world is liked very well I think would make it easier to discern the really well-received worlds from the overly visited worlds.
