Partner cant play vrchat on their quest 2, only gets an error

hi there, my partner isnt able to play vrchat on their quest 2 right now, all they are getting is this message::

oculus platform error during user proof check: no alternative certificate subject name matches target hostname ‘graph.oculus.com’ SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK

we cant find anything else about this error online so any help is appreciated.

This looks like an issue with Oculus/Quest’s servers. But hard to say as it was a certificate issue, check if there’s nothing messing with your network. Could be an issue with either DNS or something else in the device or on your network.

Otherwise, fully reboot the device andd try again.

they have rebooted the device and reinstalled vrchat entirely and are still getting the message. their network seems to be working fine, it gave them a larger message for a moment before going back to the same one.

I would suggest checking with Meta, as it looks like VRChat is trying to connect to the API to authenticate the Quest user. but it can’t for whatever reason.

Check for a local ad blocker like a pi hole. Sounds like the headset is realizing that when it tries to talk to that server its getting somewhere else.
