Nevermind

Nevermind, whatever.

Sadly age verification slots were all used up weeks ago, best bet is to keep track of official updates from VRChat either here or on social media for when the next round of slots open up.

While the thread is now closed the Age Verification FAQ can hopefully answer any further questions.

If you watched the first video linked in that thread it answers your question.

The relevant portion is from 3:31 to 3:52

To start we’re going to be partnering with a few event organizers to run a trial for age verified events. During this trial period only members of those select groups will be able to apply for age verification and only those groups in particular will be able to restrict instance access to those who have been age verified. We’re keeping it small to start so that we can work out the kinks but we’ll strive to expand access to age verification as soon as possible.

So yes it is possible for you to be blocked from a special Group instance but given how small the testing pool currently is there’s a very low chance of those instances being used for anything other than small scale testing.

In terms of the actual overall size of VRChat, yes that is small scale. According to this post from @dtupper.com on Bluesky 136,589 people were logged at the peak of NYE, even if every single person with a slot from that group was online at the same time that’s still only slightly over 2% of the of the population at that given moment in time.

I know I’m not giving you the answers that you want but I don’t work for VRChat, I’m just in the dark about all of this as you are. All I can go off of is the information that VRChat has released to the public and all that information has so far indicated is that for this period of time the answer is “deal with it” when it comes to not getting a slot in the first round.

I assume you want someone from VRC to come into this thread and give solid deadlines or promise some kind of temporary bypass system for these instances but that’s very much unlikely to happen so this is the reality we’re stuck with.

In that case, tough shit that’s how limited access Betas sometimes go, you’re stuck waiting like everyone else in your exact position.

Not sure what me or anyone else can add other than complaining and hoping anyone from VRChat actually cares enough to spend the dev time to create the solution you’re looking for.
