My friend disappeared and he changed his nickname, but I remember his old nickname and I left a note about him

Somebody help me! Yesterday, my friend Mayni disappeared from my friends list, and when I searched for her, I couldn’t find her, most likely she changed her nickname and now I can’t find her. But I left a note on it: “Лучшая подпуга” maybe it will help to find it somehow?

You’ve scrolled your friends list and checked your notes on every single user?

If you still can’t find them, then they removed you for some reason. Only other option is to encounter them in game so you can talk to them, or if you know a friend of them to ask.

Can also check your browser history for their page if you’ve visited their page online before…

But otherwise no, there’s no way for people to help with that, since only you can see the notes you’ve put on people, there’s no way for others to search based on that info.

It’s sad that this one won’t help, but I have another question. If I left a note on Mayni and she changed her nickname, then theoretically I can accidentally meet her and recognize her from the note? Or is the note removed as soon as the nickname changes…?

No, the note will remain, it’s tied to the account, not the nickname.

A nickname change won’t remove someone from your friends list either. They’ll show up as that new name in your friends list.

You can try downloading “VRCX” and see if it will be able to find existing friend information.
It also has a User Search option that allows you to “Search in Bio”, if you remember some of the text they had in their bio.

Does this mean that the account has been completely erased?

That’s the unique ID every account has, which doesn’t change. That ID returns no profile, so it would seem the account is deleted, yes.
Perhaps they made a new account, in which case you’d have to meet them in game again. Or they may have just quit completely.
