Issues in 18+ Instances Due to My voiice

Hello VRChat team,

I’m writing to share a concern and a suggestion regarding an issue I frequently face in VRChat. I have a naturally high-pitched voice, and because of that, many users assume I’m a child. Even though I explain that I’m an adult and meet the age requirements to be on the platform, I’m still often kicked, muted, blocked, or even insulted because of how I sound.

This has made it difficult to enjoy the experience, as I’m being judged unfairly based on my voice rather than my behavior.

I want to suggest a system that could help protect users like me (and others who might face similar discrimination):

Suggested Feature:

Justified Kick/Block System (in 18+ verified instances):

Before someone can kick or block another user in a verified +18 instance, they must select or write a reason.

This reason would be reviewed or at least logged, helping prevent abuse of kick/block features.

The system could also include a special badge or protection tag for users who have verified their age but may face bias due to their voice or other traits.

This system would work similarly to what GTTF (Get to the Fun) worlds do, where verified users have more structured moderation and protections in place.

I believe this could improve the community experience, especially for users who don’t fit stereotypes or who may be unfairly targeted.

You’re 18+ age verified, as confirmed looking at your profile through VRCX. The suggestion can be abused by bad actors who are massively entitled. People who report you as “Suspected Under 13”, those voting will be feel inclined to click Yes without looking at the facts.

Just sounds like the people you’re running into behaving like this are the kind of people that need a good smack across the head. And I mean a proper good smack. Enough force to knock a few IQ off.

I guess the best you can do is explain your situation in your bio. Something like: “I have a high-pitched voice due to x. I’m age verified 18+.”
That is the best I can think of at least.
