I paid $499 for 100 month of vrchat plus droppable gift, but i didn't get my purchase

Hey guys,I paid $499 last night for 100 months of vrchat gifts, but after I paid successfully, nothing happened, except that my money disappeared and I didn’t get the purchase i paid for, and im pretty sure it’s an error because there is no gift medal. If i gifted it out i will get the medal right? My steam wallet balance has been deducted, and the relevant bill has been sent to my mailbox, So I’m pretty sure vrchat are already got my money.

I tried to file a complaint on steam, but they said they had completed their portion of the purchase process and I tried to get a refund but I can’t, even if I didn’t get what I was supposed to get. I am very distressed about this matter now…

This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in any game. I have already appealed to vrchat about this, but apart from the automatic reply email, vrchat now has not given me any response yet. I could not understand how a game’s payment system could be able to occur such a horrible situation …

Appreciate the timeline clarification, given this involves a $500 payment with zero delivery, would really hope user support can solve this ASAP!

Even considering the amount of money involved, remember it’s the weekend, and VRChat doesn’t have 24/7 support staff.

If you don’t get it soon, please attempt to file a dispute with your bank. If VRChat can’t prove that you have been provided what you’ve purchased, they should be able to file a chargeback to get your money back.

EDIT: Actually, since it is through Steam, I’d hit up Steam first because going direct to a chargeback might make Steam angry. if Steam also doesn’t want to give you the money back, you may then want to dispute it with your bank.

I presume the issue was solved because there have been no reply here right?

Hi ruoyo, we got your ticket and responded to it on the 16th. We looked into it, and it seems that Steam had an error that caused the purchase to partially fail.

Our team investigated this internally and as of about 5 hours ago, the purchase status was fixed. If you are still seeing issues, please send a response to our support team through email.

Anyway I need to apologize for not replying sooner—this whole situation was honestly super frustrating, and I almost started treating it as one of those “life lessons.”
