And I thought uploading to only 2 platforms was annoying enough; uploading to 3 platforms is gonna take up even more time and is gonna be even more annoying. I will need to also update some of the code for my worlds since it specifically checks for if you are on android or not so that I don’t have to use multiple projects (on top of also having EasyQuestSwitch available. Hope that updates and includes IOS to the android switch). I can’t test any of my IOS content since I don’t have an IOS device, so I will have to take people’s word for it.
Also curious how friends who are offline but active on the website will be treated and sorted in places like the Friends Wing for example. Will they be in their own collapsible section in the menu like it is for friends who are “Online In Private World”? Or will they strictly be in the “All Friends” section of the Social Menu.
Excited to see what people can do with this. So much content nowadays is formatted in portrait orientation so having this function is gonna make a whole lot of things easier.
Hoping for a possible friends in common feature~
Geometry shaders in Worlds aren’t officially supported on any of VRChat’s mobile platforms. This includes Quest, Android, and iOS!
The SDK build panel shows a warning if your world uses a shader that may cause compatibility issues.
If you’d like to see VRChat on MacOS, please let us know on Canny!
Well it’s a good thing that there’s an automatic translation layer for Android → iOS!
You don’t need to add iOS support. While it is beneficial if you want everybody to see your content, as long as there is a good Android version there’s a good iOS version in most cases according to the dev update.
I do have Quest compatible avatars I have uploaded since I use the platform. I’ll test to see what can get uploaded for iOs. Still not happy about Android mobile phone user can’t use, see, or wear the very poor avatar though it is still in beta. I will love to test this further since the system is more stable than a year ago.
Ooh, the “friends” management is now on the site. I can’t even express how much I didn’t miss this feature.
Since you’re working on it, how about finally allowing us to differentiate between friends and acquaintances? Different permissions for individual user folders? This would ensure that certain people can stay on the list but without giving them the right to follow you into private worlds, for example.
It’s good to see security improvements, and i’m glad the bans weren’t too overzealous… Because i’ve had a friend with a run-in because of past mistakes, and some stuff being cleaned up. Making a statement is definitely better than just trying to eliminate everyone mercilessly.
This is very nice! Can’t wait to see it mirrored on vrcx as well. VRChat always desperately needs more means of streamlining getting people to interact more! Wish we could improve that in the ingame UI somehow too, but i feel that’d need a refresh of the entire layout.
How about making the ingame invite notification accept and decline buttons bigger eh? In large worlds it can be extremely difficult to press them because they’re so tiny and the laser wiggles around too much.
(there’s a lot of buttons like switch avatar etc, that are all frankly too small if we’re being honest, i imagine it’s difficult for people that have shaky hands too)
FINALLYYY!!!
Not having this has been great pain.
Now please pleaaasseee add some kind of selfie-stick mode or a way to grab the camera from farther away when not in fly mode!
That would be the last major annoyance with the modern camera, aside from occasionally the laser being unreliable when it actually raycasts to the surface of the camera ui.
Are the invites for offline defaulted to the same notification? Or can it be informed with custom messages just like normal invites in game?
in the meanwhile, if you go to the “here” tab in your quick menu you can also select users from that list instead of trying to click on the capsule :3
Would there be any considerations for possibly adding something like compute shaders for worlds to allow world creators to make better fur or grass shaders, especially if there’s also potential for MacOS support?
Actually I want to use my M1 Max Mac to do this. My current gaming PC sometimes does not have enough RAM or VRAM to bake some scenario light… Mac support and Vision Pro support will be great. iOS… I don’t know how I feel about this…
You’ll be able to send both custom messages and photos with offline invites, just like with normal invites!
The user that receives your invite will see your custom message in the notification. Sent photos are displayed on all notifications except on the mobile push notification for now.
so i know that i sign up for the beta of vrchat for ios i got no email or anything but i am waiting for it do you know when it will come out and i am sorry for the loss of gold may he rest in peace i feel so bad for him and there is one bug i forgot to mention you see there is this bug where sometimes the the cloning on quest will bug out and the audio will cut out somtime i know this is a long text so sorry for spelling and gammer
From what I’ve observed they’re likely only emailing people when they’re getting access to the beta. They’ve likely got 10000 spots, and for anyone given a spot but doesn’t use it within a certain amount of time, they may replace testers.
If I was running such a beta I’d be tempted to only hand out 1000 spots for initial testing, as there is likely lots of easy to notice bugs, I looked over and saw that live streams don’t work, and YouTube doesn’t work. Maybe no videos work at all.
Then when the easier to find bugs are found and fixed, start throwing more people at it.
