The VRChat + for worlds to detect honestly sounds like a usefull feature!! Gives more of a reason for users to get it, and worlds can have for example exclusive areas, because just like age verification, its rair for trolls to have VRChat+ or be verified, so having those “exclusive” yet still public areas may help a little bit for those who use public worlds a lot too ^o^
Not perfect ofcourse, but will definitely help and be a fun option!! <3

if Udon can detect VRC+ subscription, there should be a Comfort/Safety feature to HIDE your VRC+ Subscription Status just as there is with the Known/Trusted hide option to bypass any hypothetical abuse of this API endpoint

All great stuff really. It’s hard to incentivize creators from giving world rewards for VRC+ users, but I hope you guys do it? Like on the New Years map and on VKET stuffs. I guess the coolest “free” reward is always a badge, but not sure how to implement that xD. If anything an expansion of the creators program maybe? Or maybea free month on any world signature? Like a one time thing or something. Idk.
Give the world creator a few credits if a user buys VRC+ or gifts VRC+ while inside their world?
I know there are issues with creating credits out of thin air though, so maybe take a less popular page out of IMVU’s book and add some form of “promo credits”? (Promo credits in IMVU were a non-transferable and non-cashoutable credit, separate from normal credits which could be transferred and cashed out.)
While we’re discussing exposing more API endpoints to Udon, I think it’s important to expose things like group moderator status and instance type to Udon as well. There are definitely things that I as a world developer would like to change between a private/public/group public instance of a world, and there are certain features that only a group moderator should have (but not in private worlds, everyone should have the access in those!) and right now none of this is possible.
I’m curious about this new component, in particular the collision mode stuff. I see that hit worlds is part of this, would the other options here be “hit contacts” or “hit players” because I honestly would like to have some of the functionality of the GrounderIK where we could target specific layers in relation to player collision, especially for selective animation set ups (which is basically the animation is only applied to one person that would interact with the contact)
I’m hoping that this means we’ll be seeing more things in relation to the future plans of the SDKs in regards to the ways to mitigate the overreliance on animators dilemma as mentioned from the feedback board a couple days ago (avatar soba pls)
To keep in theme, also give access to user membership of the groups and there roles in there, which would allow staff permissions in event world. I know lot of this data is not available to avoid access discrimination which is prohibited, but people already do that as they add permissions to the world made based on player name, this would make management way easier without need to build and uploads worlds that sometimes have 3 digits of MBs and other group mods would able to manage that that. Not to mention exposing VRC+ status allows to discriminate them too so if thats not a issue then group membership would not be a problem either
Other things that would be useful:
-Expose nameplate color change function, it would be great for team marking and other things (might be accompany it with some team color parameter sent to shaders). i see it’s there in APIs and nameplate colors been not been used ever since new nameplates been introduced that stoped using color for ranks. I know red is also used for mods, but even those mods use it only when they actually use there mod power so you bearly can even see it in action, this fucntion could be transferred to icon same as rank did.
-Expose print out messages which normally are used for same join/leave portal made or something new all together. Outputting information to user regardless of location is chalanging out of the box and Unity UI system is very chunky to work with to begin with, that would save up a lot of world making time and development.
-I could go on with this, but expose anything or make new systems that let world creators to output information, common UI solutions, like score display, timer etc. making game world making easier. and made world look more uniform. Again Unity UI is not friendlies thing to work with specially when i comes to displaying information directly to the user, this would save lot of time to world makers. Think of Starcraft 1&2 or Warcraft 3 scripting system which had this kind of features, or even better VR example RecRoom.
-And since i’m involved with vket (as first gen ambasador and now global assist), expose more menu opening APIs. like curretly theres group and marketplace item, how about ability to open world menu (as a alternative to big chanky portal), event or even better listing of all items per creator (which marketplace don’t have that yet, that would be useful overall in marketplace), anything that would be useful for advertisement and information direction.
Central idea is you wanna make an object hit a wall, floor, player, etc. stop when it detects the thing you wanna collide with. As for final ik, think of spider avatars with multiple legs and how they know what is the ground when you move around
Could we please have some way of searching inworld for worlds that have names purely in Japanese (and Chinese) characters. Its not hard on desktop, bit from inside a headset its hard. Also, could we please have automatic translation of any world description in a language other than English into English. There are so many worlds by Japanese and Korean creators where the thumbnail looks interesting but the world description is unreadable. I can read Chinese characters which helps a bit, but it would make things so much easier if there were automatic translations in English.

Will the raycaster have an option to specify collision layers manually? a lot of worlds frequently set up their collisions wierdly and being forced to adhere to preset collision settings could result in the raycaster just not working correctly. having access to the layer settings directly would allow us to fix it ourselves for specific use cases.
Are we getting Avatar Raycasting before Synced Freeze to World Constraint? It’s cool and all, but I think having one without the other really limits things, like I can put an object on the ground, it knows that the ground is, but we really need a way to sync that when frozen to the world.
what about the ‘‘youtube video not working issue” everyone suddenly having? found a ytdlp cacher tht looks like it would work, but would rather have the issue fixed directly.
Care to elaborate your question? Video players are working fine, only YouTube has made changes recently which affects yt-dlp.
