Developer Update - 4 August 2022

Thank you very much for the ongoing updates. While I didn’t use a modded client, after reading how many quality of life mods got lost for people, in some cases even accessibility mods, I did feel sorry for many of them. I thus heavily welcome all the changes these days and I already played on the Open Beta and I for myself literally wonder why we never thought about these features before.

One thing which I’m particularly curious about is the big silence of the VRChat team when it comes to avatar rescaling. During the beta of avatars 3.0 there used to be a feature called “Remeasure avatar”. It was removed 2 years ago when Avatars 3.0 went live. Since then there’s a ticket about it on the feature hub which happens to be the most upvoted request in the Avatar 3.0 category. People have also asked about in your Discord, I asked about it via support email and well, it’s never been answered.

It has been made available for players with modded clients again using the “Scale goes Brr!!” mod which obviously cannot be used anymore since the EAC update.

I’m not going to ask to implement avatar scaling immediately. I do realise many QoL mods have a significantly higher priority and especially some accessibility mods are even higher priority wise. Avatar scaling is just a fun thing in comparison. Still it would be nice to at least hear back what the road blocks of that feature are - and how likely it is to come back in the near or far future.

Anyway: Still thank you very much for your attempts to make VRChat a safer place and by implementing all those QoL features. I wouldn’t have imagined how much I’d enjoy horizon adjust. I completely forgot at one point I was laying down and spilled a drink over my chest because my view was normal (looking forward). That was fun (no irony - fortunately no VR headsets were damaged in this process  ).

I love these daily updates.
